๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿฝโ€๐ŸŒพProducing More vs ๐Ÿซฑ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿซฒ๐ŸฝConnecting More
Looking back at my 10 years in AgriBusiness ๐ŸŒฑ, I can confidently say one of the biggest challenges we face in Agriculture ๐Ÿšœ โ€“ and maybe in business in general ๐Ÿ’ผ โ€“ is disconnectedness. Too often we work in silos: ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ Farmers focusing on their own work ๐Ÿญ Suppliers chasing their goals ๐Ÿ›’ Markets doing their thing ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Communities trying to make sense of it all But when thereโ€™s no real connection ๐Ÿค, opportunities slip through the cracks. What Iโ€™ve seen over the years is that real growth happens when people, ideas, and resources come together. ๐Ÿ’ก๐ŸŒ Maybe the real work ahead of us is not only producing more ๐ŸŒพ but connecting more. ๐Ÿ”—โœจ

๐Ÿ”ฅ What a great event this was!
Our Business Connect event for Student Entrepreneurship Week was a huge success โ€” over 150 students, lecturers, businesspeople, and farmers came together to learn, connect, and share opportunities in AgriBusiness. This was only the beginning. ๐Ÿš€ Next year, we must go bigger and better! ๐Ÿ‘‰ Comment below if you support the idea and would love to participate in the next one. Letโ€™s build this movement together! ๐Ÿ“– Full story here: AgriGroomers Host Business Connect Event for Student Entrepreneurship Week

Back in 2015 where it all began...
I was still a student at Cedara College of Agriculture when a group of us โ€“ 15 students from Cedara and UKZN โ€“ decided to start something that would change our journey forever. We called it Agri-Groomers. At the time, we were concerned. We saw the gap between what we were learning in class and what the market actually demanded. We knew that if we didnโ€™t act, weโ€™d graduate without being ready for the real world of agriculture. That concern sparked the idea: letโ€™s create a platform where young people can learn, connect, and step into opportunities within the agri-sector. It took us almost two years to shape the idea, and in May 2015, we finally launched. At first, students were skeptical. But once they saw the vision, the numbers grew, and the energy was unstoppable. With the help of Cedara and UKZN staff, and support from organisations, companies, and government agencies, Agri-Groomers quickly gained traction. We built the foundation around three pillars: ๐ŸŒฑ Agricultural Learning & Skills Development โ€“ hands-on training and real exposure. ๐Ÿ’ก Personal Development & Character Building โ€“ leadership, self-awareness, and soft skills to boost employability. ๐Ÿค Connect (3D, AgriGames, GreenActions) โ€“ engaging platforms to debate, network, and build innovative solutions for agriculture. Our journey took us far beyond campus. We volunteered at the CCARDESA Youth in Agriculture Summit, collaborated with the South African Youth Climate Change Coalition, and even played a role at the UN FAO World Forestry Congress in Durban. Each of these moments proved one thing: young people have a place in agriculture โ€“ and we can lead. What started as a youth-focused movement has now grown into something bigger. AgriGroomers has evolved into a space for all age groups โ€“ students, graduates, and farmers. Our mission remains the same: to empower, to inspire, and to open doors for others. This is bigger than me, bigger than you โ€” itโ€™s a movement. If agriculture runs in your veins and youโ€™re ready to make an impact, then Agri-Groomers is where you belong. Bring your energy, your ideas, your talent, and your passion. Together, weโ€™re not just talking about change โ€” weโ€™re leading it. The future of agriculture is ours to shape, and the time is now.
