How Did It Go Today?
Well, DAY ! went well. Didn't actually get any work on the computer done, and actually walked more than I thought I would. I was also with my granddaughter all day, so we went to Fort Smith and went out shopping and stuff. Besides my regular walk, I was also walking then. How did it go today? Even a little is better than none!...

April 1st Walking Challenge
Hello Everybody! We have a day to prepare to do something we should already be doing! The goal is to walk every day this month. Set your goal, whether it's 100, 50, or 25 miles. Every day we're going to walk. Snap a picture on your trail and upload it here. Make a short Video, just interact. The main thing is to get moving. Grab a friend to walk with you! Invite your friends to join us. It's about to get busy! Let's keep the momentum! We have several cohort courses coming up that we're going to do together. One is the Water Challenge. The other is the 7-Day Exodus Fast, based on the book God Invented Intermittent Fasting. We also have the upcoming introduction of Dr. Estrella Delgadillo, who is our resident Naturopathic doctor. She has some really interesting things to share. We've been a little slow getting this community started, but we're on our way. We want everyone to get healthy in 2026! Get ready. Let's Go!

At least 45mins of walking outside each day for me! Mostly likely with my baby girl in my chest carrier, what’s another 18lbs or so😁

The Trip To The Grocery Store…
I’m at the grocery store to buy groceries. I don’t like to be in here long. I want to know how many know what you want to get and just go, and, if you think its important to plan by writing down what you’re getting? Do you plan your list by meals or what you regularly get to cook whatever you want. I will tell you right now this is not my best activity. I know I don’t get this right. I mainly know what I’m getting and just go, but i’m starting to plan better by creating a list. So i know what i’ll be eating. I’d like to hear from you!!!! Please respond in the community room. Let’s start a conversation!

I have an ongoing list of all the food in my house and put that list into my ai assistant. I then tell it to give me 5-10 whole food plant based recipe ideas using only what I have plus max 5 extra items to buy. I then pick out two or three for the week and go to the store. This helps save money, reduce waste and make new things.
No More Starting Over
If someone truly wanted their next lifestyle change to be the last one they ever needed, what would you say they have to do differently this time?

Honestly? They need to stop treating the symptoms and start dealing with the root cause. Luke 6:47-49 talks about building your house on rock vs. sand. If you keep building on sand (just going through the motions without dealing with the real issues), every storm is gonna knock you down again. This time needs to be about building on solid foundation. So what's different this time? Get real about the WHY - Is this just about looking good, or is it about stewarding God's temple? Make it bigger than willpower. Make it spiritual. Deal with the heart - Jeremiah 17:9 says "the heart is deceitful." What's the REAL reason past attempts failed? Emotional eating? Self-sabotage? Pride? Dig into that and address it. Get accountability - Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 - "Two are better than one... if they fall, one will lift up his fellow." Stop trying to do this alone. Get real people holding you accountable. Lean on God's strength, not your own - Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Your willpower will fail. His strength won't.
“What If the Body Never Gets a Night Off?”
A Real Question for the Group Here’s something most of us don’t think about. God designed the body to repair itself at night—to reset blood sugar, calm inflammation, and protect against problems like diabetes. But when we eat late, especially sugary or heavy foods, the body stays busy digesting instead of repairing. Instead of switching into repair mode, it stays stuck in work mode. Night after night, that repair time gets pushed off. Over time, that matters—because this is how blood sugar problems and diabetes can slowly develop, even if we feel fine now. Here’s something else that’s important: When we don’t learn self-control with food, it becomes harder to have self-control with other things later.Food is often the first comfort we learn, and the brain remembers that pattern. Pause & Talk Adults—ask a young person: “What do you think happens if we eat late all the time and never give the body time to repair itself like God designed?” Then answer the same question for yourself. Final Question (For Everyone) What do you think God’s remedy is for this?Rhythm? Rest? Timing? Self-control?

Great question! The answer is all of the above - and they're all connected! Ecclesiastes 3:1 - "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." It starts with self-control (following God's will for how we steward our bodies). Self-control leads to proper timing - eating when our bodies are meant to digest, not late at night. Good timing gives our bodies the rest God designed them to have for repair. And when we do this consistently, we establish healthy rhythms that honor how God created us to function. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - "Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit... So glorify God in your body." God designed our bodies with built-in repair cycles. When we ignore that design by eating late and robbing our bodies of rest, we're working against His wisdom. Self-control to Timing to Rest to Rhythm. It all flows together!

Absolutely! You're so right, we're not meant to do this alone. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 is perfect for this! And the truth is, we have the ultimate companion walking beside us always. Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." We can do NOTHING without Him - but with Him, we can do anything. Psalm 23:4 - "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Whether we're in easy seasons or struggling through the valleys, He's right there - strengthening us, guiding us, and blessing us. Matthew 28:20 - "And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Christ is ALWAYS walking beside us, ready to strengthen us when we're weak, lift us when we fall, and bless us as we pursue obedience. Community is essential - iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). But ultimately, our strength comes from the One who never leaves us. So grateful for His faithfulness! 💪
