Liberated Genius Conversations: 3 Questions with Dr. Afua Bromley
For our third interview, called, Liberated Genius Conversations, we talked with Dr. Afua Bromley about acupuncture and how a well balanced body can unlock our full potential. About Dr. Afua Bromley: My journey to becoming an acupuncturist was marked by a single turning point – a friend harassing me to try acupuncture for a stubborn upper respiratory infection that left me without hearing in my left ear for a month. Though I did not expect the treatment to help at all, within 5 minutes my hearing returned and the rest of the symptoms of my upper respiratory infection were gone within 24 hours. Curious, I did some additional reading on acupuncture, then decided to enroll in acupuncture school instead of a pre-medical post-baccalaureate school while I waited a year to begin (allopathic) medical school. Two months into my first year at the National Institute of Oriental Medicine (now the Florida College of Integrative Medicine) and I was hooked! The cases I saw during my observational clinic hours along with my classes opened a more holistic and (I felt) comprehensive approach to treating the root of health issues and actually resolving them in many cases. For me, the opportunity to actually offer a variety of solutions for patients made all the difference. I gave up my spot in medical school and completed my master’s degree in Oriental Medicine in 1998. Learn more here. Afua Bromley, DACM, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac-NCCAOM https://share.google/Mkq8T2Hu6FlF5eqRl

This was fascinating! I could nerd out on these kind of topics all the time. I’m a big fan of acupuncture, helped me through some health issues when nothing else did. When I see my acupuncturist and she doesn’t ask to see my tongue I ask for me because I want to know, lol!
The Secret Every Child Knows That Most Adults Forget
Coach @Aziza Binti reminds us how children learn to walk. They stumble, rise, and try again. Dr. April dives in, showing us that every stumble is a step toward mastery. Today, let’s embrace our failures and fail forward, because every fall is a future rise. Watch, reflect, and share your own journey. Question: What's something you're learning right now that requires you to keep getting back up?

Hi, I’m Nina. Glad to join this community. I find that the longer I’ve been on this life journey, the harder it is to define who I am with words. I’ve gained more self-awareness over the years and I’m less willing to put myself in a box. Some of the roles I hold are mother, space holder, friend, transformation guide, and matchmaker, to name a few. More than anything, I’m learning to fall in love with myself and with life a little more every day, one step at a time. What makes me come alive is beauty. I’m a Libra and I’ve always loved aesthetics. I love creating beautiful spaces, playing dress up, appreciating art, architecture, and experiences that engage the senses. Scent, sound, sight, taste, texture… all of it. Beauty feels healing and alive to me. In this season, I’m hoping to create more structure and supportive processes so I can share beauty with others by finally bring my women’s circles to life in a more grounded and consistent way. I’m also healing the belief that things need to be perfect before I begin.

I Almost Forgot My Power Today. Then Strangers Reminded Me.
Yesterday, I left a training feeling discouraged. I kept thinking: “How do I actually grow the Liberated Genius Academy?” Then I picked up a Lyft passenger who changed my entire mindset. He said: “Good systems work. You see it in nature. Trees. Cars. Life itself.” And it hit me. I’m not failing. I’m learning, building, and laying a strong foundation. Then he said: “As long as you have breath in your body, you still have work to do.” Yal. I didn’t realize how much I needed those words until I felt it in my spirit. Because if we’re honest, many of us have been conditioned to question our power the moment results don’t come fast enough. We start thinking: Maybe it’s not good enough. Maybe I’m not good enough. Maybe it’s taking too long. But what if the delay isn’t denial? What if you’re just building roots strong enough to hold the life you prayed for? And here’s where it gets beautiful. After that conversation, my energy changed. The next passenger said: “This sounds exactly like the kind of community I need.” The next one said: “Wow… this is inspiring to me.” Then a couple got in, and we spent the ride pouring life into each other about purpose, gifts, community, and why we can’t quit now. That’s when I realized: Light multiplies. When you stop hiding your genius, people feel it. When you walk in alignment, people respond to it. When you pour into others authentically, it pours back into you. It's a whole domino effect! That is the power of being a Liberated Genius. So let me ask you: What’s one conversation, sign, or moment that reminded you not to give up on yourself? And read the comments too. Somebody in this community might be carrying the reminder you need today.

Definitely resonates. Implementing more structure is my growth edge currently.
