If you're building a business alongside a job, you're probably asking the wrong question.
Most people in your position are asking: "Is my idea good enough?" The better question is: "What's the smallest version of this I can test this week?" That shift, from waiting until you're ready to running small experiments while you're still employed, is what actually builds momentum without burning out or betting everything on an idea that hasn't proven itself yet. That's exactly what we're doing inside From Job to CEO: The Experiment - a free Skool community for employed professionals who are building something on the side and want to test, track and figure out what's actually working. No fluff. No pressure to quit your job. Just real experiments, real results, and people in the same season of life doing the same thing. If that sounds like where you are right now, come join us, it's free.

If you're building a business alongside a job, you're probably asking the wrong question.
Stop doing things and hoping. Start experimenting.
In February 2026 I had 283 email subscribers and no real idea what was actually moving the needle in my business. I started running 30-day experiments and documenting everything, what worked, what flopped, and what the data said. Here's where I am now: 📧 1,038 email subscribers 👥 174 Skool members (started in April) 🧪 4 completed experiments 💰 9 consecutive days of sales 📦 2 bundles hosted 🛠️ A whole product suite born from the experiments themselves Every single one of those results came from running one focused experiment at a time, tracking what happened, and letting the data tell me what to do next. This community is where I document it all, in real time, while working full time. If you're building a business alongside a job and you're tired of guessing, come and see how the experiment approach actually works. Free to join. 174 members. Real data. No fluff. 👉 Join here

#BreakingNews 🗞️ Your best business idea is already in your JD
Most employed professionals spend years waiting for a "big idea" to land. Here's what I've learned after 18 years in senior leadership: the idea isn't missing. You're just not looking in the right place. Your job description tells you three things: 1️⃣ What you're trusted to do, that trust is proof of concept 2️⃣ What problems people bring to you - those are the problems people pay to have solved outside an organisation 3️⃣ What transformation you create - not what you do, but what changes for someone because of you The gap between what feels ordinary to you and what feels impossible to someone else? That's your business. 💬 What transformation do you create in your job that you've never thought to charge for? I'd love to hear it... 🎯 If this hit home, come join my free community From Job to CEO The Experiment - I'm building this business in real time, and you can watch (and steal) the whole playbook.

@Roberto Srpak thanks very much, I think it’s so easy to underestimate our skills and value for this reason.

Often when I post about public speaking, and people being nervous about it, I get comments back about how needed my work is - working with new or nervous “speakers” (think beyond keynotes, but workshops and podcasts and video content, on and on). There are multiple says having to do with not dimming your light, and not holding yourself back and my thoughts are yes! Those! One thing I hear often from nervous-to-be-in-fron-of-people-people is they don’t want to look “stupid.” Another thing is they don’t know what to say. Another is the question of what if I forget where I am? And, yes those are all huge for that person. The anxiety is real. I have walked in those shoes. And while I was walking in those shoes I started seeing just how impactful our messages can be. What we have to say to others (live or recorded) can change lives. If you are nervous - or terrified - to be in front of others, I get you. And I challenge you to make a decision to do it anyhow! And if you want support on your journey, I’ve got you! Come find me in the Public Speaker’s Growth Hub and let’s make a difference in this world!

I was terrible at public speaking and would be so nervous then I had to do it more and more frequently with my job and discovered that creating YouTube videos pushed me so much further with overcoming it. It took a while but I am so much better off for that repeated and consistent practice. I can still remember distinctly the feeling of numbness in my fingers and heart racing...great community idea and very needed.

#Breaking News - That’s All Folks!
Have you ever ended a presentation with “Thank you.” Or “That’s it.” Or “That’s all I have.” Or anything else along these lines? We spend time in our Public Speaker’s Growth Hub weekly workshops working on things like our starts, on our endings, and all the stuff in between. All of it is essential. For this tip though, start strong, end stronger. Leave them with something to remember. If you are new to public speaking, want to brush up your skills, or want to run and hide from speaking in front of others, the Public Speaker's Growth Hub is where you need to be! Come join the fun! And, yes, we have fun! https://www.skool.com/public-speakers-growth-hub-6071/about?ref=5c03494a7c964ec0a74ebc2be997a59a

This is so true and can be tricky with video content too, I love the unexpected ended in YouTube videos that finish really abruptly!
