I’m in the last two weeks of my full time job as I transition back into doula work. I will be honest I am stepping into this season with zero savings and rent still due, so I know agency work will be important while I rebuild my private client base. The point of this post though… I recently asked an agency owner where she advertises for clients. She said she runs ads, but that Facebook Marketplace actually brings in a lot of inquiries. Y’all my jaw dropped. 😅 When I really thought about it, it made perfect sense. New parents are already on Marketplace looking for baby gear, bassinets, swings, and secondhand items. They are also often connected to local mom groups there. So of course that is where families might stumble across doulas. Out of curiosity I went to look and sure enough there are doulas advertising there all over the place. I honestly never would have thought of that before. Pretty genius honestly.

@Lisa Vee any insight for us ?
This process is addicting
Lisa! So I have to say the process of “inviting” women into my services and seeing them “bite” is addicting. Today I had a new follower on IG. I msgd her and thanked her for joining and then asked the question I’ve been asking everyone lately “I’m curious, did you find me from my podcast or just scrolling IG”. To which they usually reply. This mom replied saying a friend had sent her to my page and that she is currently 9m pregnant.. I congratulated her and told her that I am happy to support her however I can. She replied thanking me and saying how she has been watching my content. Another few messages and she shared that she is due early April, plans a natural birth in hospital with a midwife but babe is breech, which is why her friend sent her my info. We had a few messages back and forth about her provider and breech etc. then she thanked me for having a conversation with her. Normally this is when I would say “absolutely anytime”- but this time I added “have you hired or considered birth support” at the end. She said she has considered it and asked my prices… I replied this and just like that we have a call scheduled for tomorrow!!

this felt so natural
Social media question
So I watched the first video today about committing to five conversions a day. My hesitation sets in already .People are going to look at my page wondering why why a random person is messaging them or check me out if I’m on Facebook messaging in groups and I don’t have much up on my page. I literally haven’t posted on IG all year. So I think I’m asking for feedback lol

Intro post
Hey Friends! I’m Nikkea located in MD about an hour outside of DC and 30 ish minutes outside of northern VA. I’ve been in and out of Doula work for the past 5 years serving families as a whole in different capacities for like 15 years 😱. I’m picking my business up off the shelf once more and I hope to keep it that way this time! My biggest pain point is consistency and not cutting and running when it gets a little tuff.
