Unfortunately, your girl was admitted BACK to the hospital yesterday because I was still having the same issues again! 😩 BUTTTT this time, VIP was ruled out, and the doctor actually feels that it may have aggravated an underlying issue that was already there. So what did they tell me? RESTING TACHYCARDIA. 👀 Basically, resting tachycardia means your heart rate is staying higher than normal while you’re at rest—like when you’re sitting, relaxing, or sleeping and your heart is supposed to be chilling but decides it wants to run a whole marathon. 😂🏃🏽‍♀️💨 The doctor explained that GLP-1 medications can sometimes cause an increase in resting heart rate, which is one reason your healthcare provider may keep asking about your heart rate, pulse, and blood pressure while you’re taking them. For ME, with my dose increasing this week AND introducing something new into my routine, it looks like my body basically said, “Ma’am… ABSOLUTELY NOT.” 😂😂 That triggered the increased heart rate, which then made me anxious, which made my heart rate go EVEN HIGHER… which made it harder to sleep… which made me more anxious… and BAM 💥 — the ultimate domino effect. 😩 So they admitted me, hooked me up to what felt like EVERY MACHINE UNDER THE SUN 😂, monitored me, ran ALLLLLL the tests… and y’all… EVERYTHING CAME BACK PERFECT!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 They couldn’t find any other underlying issue, and your girl is healthy as can be! PRAISE THE LORD!!!! 🙏🏽💕 Because of all of this, I’ve decided to drop the Reta altogether for now and stick with my trusty girl Tirz while I give my body a little BREAK. The doctor said I CAN still go back to the gym — YAYYYYY! 🥳🏋🏽‍♀️ — BUT I’m taking the rest of this week off just to be safe and let my body settle down. Today’s message is a little SELF-REFLECTION CHECK-IN because y’all already know I’m about to tell y’all to take care of YOU! 😂💗 Yes, we have ALL the things going on outside of this space — family, work, school, kids, responsibilities, LIFE… chile, the list be LISTING! 😂 But in the middle of taking care of everybody and everything else, PLEASE don’t forget to take care of YOU. 🫶🏽 And y’all KNOW me… I’m always on the move! 😂 If I’m not working, I’m at the gym. If I’m not at the gym, I’m doing something else. Basically, I be acting like I got 48 hours in a day! 🤣 Welllll… yesterday was definitely my “GIRL, SIT DOWN!” wake-up call. 😂😭 As y’all know, We are all experimenting and I’ve been experimenting with VIP, and because I’m actively in the gym 5–6 days a week working toward my goals, I decided to research VIP to see if it could help support my breathing/airways while exercising. WELP… I did a little TOO much yesterday. 😩😂 I ended up in the hospital because I started experiencing some abnormal heart palpitations, which then triggered anxiety. Now let me tell y’all — I am OKAY! 🙌🏽 My bloodwork? Spectacular. EKG? Spectacular. X-rays? Spectacular. Everything they tested? SPECTACULAR!😂👏🏽 They couldn’t find anything concerning in the tests. Then I remembered… OH YEAH… I TOOK VIP! 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 Once I put the timing together, the symptoms made a lot more sense as a possible reaction to what I had taken. I was also prescribed medication for the anxiety, which helped me finally calm down and get some much-needed sleep. And today? I feel completely normal! 🙌🏽 No palpitations, no crazy symptoms — I’m feeling like myself again. 💕 BUT this is exactly why I always tell y’all: RESEARCH AT YOUR OWN RISK. 🗣️ Just because something is being researched or talked about in the research community does NOT mean it’s automatically risk-free. Your body can respond differently than someone else’s, and sometimes you don’t know how something is going to affect YOU until you experience it. So please, please, PLEASE listen to your body. If something feels wrong, don’t just brush it off. Take care of yourself and seek medical attention when you need to. ❤️
