This Week's Discovery Mission — The Seed Detectives 🌱
🌿 Welcome to The Meadow — Your Child's World This is a space built entirely for the children in our community. A place to explore, discover, compete, and be celebrated exactly as they are. Every week The Meadow brings: ✦ A Discovery Mission — three levels so every child can join in ✦ A Hidden Object challenge with points to win ✦ A weekly competition with a real prize ✦ Interest Zones to explore — Arts, Nature, Science, Stories, Music, Movement, Food, Discovery ✦ Birthday celebrations for every child in the community This week's Discovery Mission — The Seed Detectives 🌱 🌱 Explorer (15 minutes) Find 3 different seeds in your kitchen or garden. Draw each one carefully and write its name. Look at their shapes, colours, and sizes. How are they different? 🌿 Adventurer (30 minutes) Do the Explorer mission PLUS — plant one of your seeds. Take a photo every two days and document what happens. What does it need to grow? 🌲 Pioneer (60 minutes) Do both missions above PLUS — research where each seed originally comes from in the world. Mark the countries on a world map. What do you notice about where food grows? HOW TO EARN YOUR FIRST STAMP: Reply to this post with a photo or description of what you discovered. Every child who completes any level earns their first Explorer Stamp in their Discovery Passport. ⭐ Points earned: Explorer 10 pts · Adventurer 15 pts · Pioneer 20 pts Your Discovery Passport is waiting. Let the adventure begin.

The Children's Wellbeing Bill — What You Need to Know
🚨 URGENT — What the Children's Wellbeing Bill Means For Your Family The Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill is expected to receive Royal Assent at Easter 2026. This is the biggest change to home education law in the UK in decades. Here is what is changing: ✦ Mandatory registration — all home educating families in England must register with their local authority. This is new. ✦ Local authority consent — if your child is being withdrawn from school and there are existing child protection concerns, you will need LA consent before withdrawing. ✦ Home visits — LAs can request a visit within 15 days of registration. You still have the right to decline a home visit. Written evidence is always an alternative. ✦ What is NOT changing — you do not need permission to home educate. You do not need to follow the National Curriculum. You do not need qualified teachers. What to do right now: 1. Download the free deregistration guide in the Start Here classroom — it explains your rights under the new law in plain English. 2. If you are considering deregistering — do it now before the Bill passes. Current law still applies until Royal Assent. 3. If you have already deregistered — your existing provision is not affected. Continue as normal. We will update this post the moment Royal Assent is confirmed. The Thriving Child is your real-time guide through every change in home education law. You are protected. You are informed. You are not alone. — The Thriving Child

Welcome to The Thriving Child 🌱
Welcome to The Thriving Child. You found us. That means something. Whether you pulled your child from a system that failed them, you are just beginning your home education journey, or you simply knew there was a better way — you are in the right place. Here is where to start: ✦ Step 1 — Download the free UK Deregistration Guide and four weekly timetable templates in the Start Here classroom. They are ready right now. ✦ Step 2 — Tell us about your family in the 5-minute welcome survey that arrived in your DMs. We will send you a personalised starter pack based on exactly where you are. ✦ Step 3 — Introduce yourself in the Welcome section. One sentence. Your name, your child's age, and why you are here. That is all you need. ✦ Step 4 — Bring your child into The Meadow. Their first Discovery Passport stamp is waiting. This community was built for every child the system was not enough for. Every deaf child who deserves a story in their own language. Every autistic child who was told they were too much. Every family who chose a different path and needed somewhere that truly understood. You are not alone anymore. Welcome home. — The Thriving Child
