I am trying to clean up the manuscript, for bloat, drag and chapters that feel lopsided. I created a routine with ChatGPT and a developmental sheet where I described in short and explained the role of each chapter for my audience. I use the feedback given by AI for fine tuning and I feel I'm making good progress. Here is the prompt I am using: We are continuing book development. Read the attached chapter draft and developmental sheet. First, diagnose the chapter against the sheet. Tell me: 1. what aligns 2. what still misses 3. what drags, repeats, or belongs elsewhere 4. what should be cut, compressed, moved, or expanded 5. the clean chapter spine 6. whether it is developmentally sound or still needs restructuring
Sell Sheet Feedback?
I've heard that one needs a "sell sheet" for local bookstores... And, wouldn't you know, IBPA has a resource on creating sell sheets! For those of you with successful sell sheets (like, you've used them to get into stores, book buyers like them, etc), I'd love your feedback! What do you like/dislike? What's missing? What could be better? Is this what book buyers at indie stores are looking for? THANK YOU! 🙏 (PDF attached but also an image here that you can quickly look at in Skool...)

Likes: the endorsements add serious credibility. The specs (price, pages, ISBN) are all there which is great for buyers and retailers. Dislikes: the font hierarchy makes it hard to scan quickly, too many elements competing for attention. Honestly the one thing I'd fix is the wall of text in the middle. Most people will skim this, so breaking it up with a bold bullet or two would help a lot.
Book trailer
Hi - has anyone had a book trailer made for their book? Is there a resource? Thanks, Jeanne

Where would you put it ? in your website landing page?
Starting from scratch
Ok, for those of you starting with no followers or audience: how do you manage social media posts without feeling silly? I mean, I can offer FB live or polls, but who's going to participate? I know we all start somewhere, but I feel ridiculous marketing and promoting to an empty room. Any tips from those who've built a large following? Is it just a case of fake it till you make it?

@Jeremy Shapiro I love your landing page! My book will have a downlodabel AI Toolkit with templates and prompt - given for free to the buyers of the book. I looked at the fields they have to fill in Order# or Receipt#...if someone is just making up numbers you would not have a method to validate, correct? I was thinking to ask the reader to put something from the book as security question, for example, what is the first word of the first paragraph of chapter 3?
Question about Ingram Spark and D2D
Does Julie have a great video or resource on getting books onto these platforms? I can search and figure it out, but usually this community already knows more! My book is already on Amazon KDP. Thanks!

I am interested in that as well. If anyone is using it, let us know how it works for you!
