Growing my green thumb
Hi I’m new to gardening and would love to start but not sure where. My goal is to harvest herbs and vegetables that I use every in the kitchen. Can anyone share tips? I have pots but scared to plant seeds because I’m unsure how to keep it going.

I have only been gardening 7 months and it’s a lot of trial and error but SO exciting, especially with kids. It’s incredibly hard work but so rewarding. One of my favorite things to do is try planting seeds in different containers in different areas of my yard to see what works. Starting seeds indoors is also an option if you have a little space. Either way, it’s so much fun!

Hello. I live in a trailer park in Northern California. Zone 9b. Limited growing space. That's why I am doing container growing. Fruit trees, herbs, berries, vegetables, fragrant flowers and plants, California natives, drought-tolerant plants, orchids. I have an AS in Landscape Horticulture and consider myself "well-versed" with plants. But container-gardening presented a new challenge. I have killed so many plants that I continue to read, research and inquire about what could be ailing my babies. There's always something to learn.

Welcome, Oliver! I am a 100% container gardener in Southern California, zone 9b. I definitely know the struggle to fine the right soil combo, container, watering and drainage solutions for each plant, not to mention pests! You will find a lot do support and combined knowledge here in this community.
