Happy Belated Gotcha Day Bellzabub!
She's been in my care for 2 years now, since June 29th, 2023. True to form, she is trying to bankrupt me by getting injured, also on the 29th at 11PM, jumping for a ball and landing wrong on her hind leg. Immediate limping, and she was an imitation tripod. She was displeased that we immediately stopped everything and it was bedtime. She was still speedily hopping around. Did a basic assessment, discomfort in that leg, but it didn't feel like anything too bad. Couldn't do anything about it anyways because A) she needs heavy sedation when going to the vet for just a visit (I can not imagine what she'd be like if we went without sedation), and B) I already took my meds that make me sleepy. So emergency vet was not possible. Next morning, she's putting her leg down, but no weight, so called the vet and got some meds and made an appointment for today. Even under heavy sedation, she's a freaking fighter. I did warn them that she'd need more, so notes were taken to give more for her next appointment. Vet could not palpitate her leg, but watched Bella walk a bit. She's still treating the leg tenderly, but it's getting better. So, pain meds, sleepy meds, anti-inflammatories, and kennel rest for the next week. If it's still not better, we'll be getting an x-ray but the outlook is pretty promising. This does not change that she needs to be at Arsenal for 2 weeks starting on the 11th, as I do still have surgery. So, if someone can give me a call to advise about that, I'd be grateful (between 11 and 1, or after 5 preferred!). Next Wednesday, I'll assess whether she'll be able to join the classes during her stay there, or if she still needs to be on kennel rest. So yeah, happy 2 years Bellzabub, ya butthead.
