What is your investing strategy in the current market?
I know that recently there was a discussion about the best investment opportunities in the current market. Yet, I’ve been buying packs and booster boxes for a few years now, but lately (probably since the end of last year) prices seem to be getting crazier. I’m curious how you see the current market, in terms of both demand and supply, and what strategy you’re currently using in terms of investing. For example, Destined Rivals is one of the newer sets, but do you think prices might come down? What about older sets - do you see them stabilizing, dropping, or even rising further? Because it used to be that, after some time, prices would go down significantly, but I’m not really seeing that with sets released in late 2024 or early 2025. So, are you still buying in this market, or are you skipping some sets and waiting for prices to drop? I’d be really interested to hear your current mindset. I’m sure there are people here who’ve been in the game for a long time and have seen plenty of market fluctuations. Thanks!

Hi Lukas, Its hard to say what the best boxes are to invest in this current market. Tbh I don't buy allot compared tot 2023 and 2024. I'm selling a part of my sealed collection to ride the hype which will cool down eventually. Personally I'm buying 151 right now. It's almost a 2 year mark and the set will be out of rotation. Also there are allot of restocks atm so if you look for opportunities you might find some good deals. I'm buying the booster bundles between 65/70 a piece. I have 52 atm (my largest position) Other sets i keep an eye out will be prismatic evolution and destined rivals. Not sure how much destined rivals they will restock or reprint but if they go below the 200 I'll buy some boxes. I have 0 boxes now and only 1 etb haha. I'm skipping blackbolt and white flare. Not sure if I buy mega evolutions tbh. I'll prolly buy the bulbasaur
Buying new products NL
Hey fellow Dutch collectors: where do you still finds new products (ETB/BB) of new releases / preorders? I can’t seem to find a way to even get close to buying outside of Cardmarket. I know it is hard, but people still manage, so my questions is: what can I try?

Current market and plays
Hey everyone, I would like to share my thoughts and wanted to have a discussion about the current state of teh market. I’ve noticed it’s getting increasingly difficult to find good and affordable sealed products with real potential. The market has exploded in 2025 – products sell out quickly, prices are way above MSRP and even (small) reprints seem to make investment outcomes less predictable. That’s why I’m curious to hear your thoughts on what sealed Pokémon products are currently the best investment opportunities in this current market. This could be recent sets, upcoming releases, or more niche items like special ETBs, promo boxes, or Japanese sealed products. A few questions I’d love to discuss: - Which recent or upcoming sets do you still see growth potential in? - What’s your view on the risks of reprints? - Are Japanese products a better play right now? - Are there alternative sealed items (like pin collections, holiday sets, etc.) that might be flying under the radar? Personally, I’ve been looking at 151(ETBS, boosterbundles), Prismatic evolutions (ETBS and bundles), and possibly some older Sword & Shield sets that are still somewhat accessible(Fusion Strike, Lost Origin, Chilling Reign, Astral RAdiance, Silver Tempest or Brilliant Stars). But I’d love to hear your strategies and opinions! I think reprints wont hurt as they used to like lost origin and fusion strike in de Sword and Shield era. They will dip maybe 20% but at what pricepoint are you prepared to pay for a BB? For me its around 150 euro for a BB (Journey and and Destined Rivals (maybe 160) In my opinion Japanese are a good alternatieve in this kind of boom market but English will always be preferred when the market is down. So i dont have allot of japanese myself (i have VStar uni and 151 bb) Looking forward to the discussion!

@Nils Buksted hard to say tbh. I know asmodee had some restock on 151 bundles for around 31-33 exc tax per bundle recently. But most of them dried up very fast. I heared the prismatic are beeing restocked in the US but not the European market. But 40/60 euro etbs won't be possible anymore in this current market. I have 24 prismatic etbs for now (all bought around 45 ish) but if there are some below 85 I would buy some more tbh.

@Nils Buksted yeah I think so as well. I'm looking for deals for 151 and PE as well.

Best European Stores (links inside)
Hi guys! I wanted to start a thread where we all could share the best European stores we buy from. Especially in this bull market it will be very useful to be as resourceful as possible in order to min max the investments :) Best prices: Games Island (Germany - free international shipping above 500 EUR) Czech Republic: Waku Waku Najada

I know a few Dutch sites but don't know if they ship internationally. Ceescards.eu Pkmncards.nl Pokemen.nl These have firm prices. Although with the prismatic craziness they fail to deliver because of the allocations.
