The other night I realized something about myself. I had footage from Creative Cinema Night sitting on my phone. I kept telling myself… “I’ll post it in a min.” A minute turned into an hour. Then another. It wasn’t because I didn’t want to. I wanted to. That got me thinking… how many things have I wanted to create that never made it out into the world because I got stuck between wanting and doing? Anybody else?

Hey Creative Bestie... I need to introduce you to somebody. His name is Chief Overthinker. And there's a good chance he's already been in your studio/creative space without you even knowing it. He's the one who turns a five-minute creative decision into a five-day spiral. He's the one who says "but what if it doesn't look right?" He's the one who makes you research supplies for three hours instead of just picking up the brush. Chief Overthinker is Head of the Overthought Enforcement Unit over at the Creative Police Department. And his job — the one he takes very seriously — is convincing you that you're not ready. Spoiler: you're already ready. Here's what I need you to do today. Next time you feel yourself overthinking a creative decision — whether it's what color to use, what page to start, or whether your idea is "good enough" — I want you to call him out by name.
