Thank you for the question. To begin, we are working on Chapter 8. My dog and I put in a lot of reps. We are willing to put in the work and get better at the system. He is very excited and motivated and will put himself on place, the box or touch pad before we even start. 1. Succinct commands wait ✋🏽and to greet others. 🤗I get to become "more important" than others (the pack leader). Our dog wants to hug on everybody (rub against their legs and seek cuddles). Most people love his hugs. But of course, some people don't want to be rubbed by a dog. And no matter the case he needs to not do this.I'm learning how to get him to come to me and pause before greeting someone. I still need succinct commands for this. When he's off leash on the property we live on I keep an e-collar on him. Sometimes someone will walk out of their house/room or drive up and he wants to greet them. We are getting better. Sometimes, now when someone calls him he doesn't go hug them right away. I have him come to me and he waits until I release him. 2. Storms. ⛈️A big thing is my dog is deathly afraid of thunder and heavy rain. I believe that he is even more sensitive than most dogs. It could be sunny and I don't hear thunder, but he anticipates the storm. He trembles and wants to hide. I usually just put him to bed and cover him with his blanket. He won't go outside to pee 💦if it's raining heavily even if I use an umbrella (But he used to). He will wait until he cannot hold it anymore and then he will go outside and be efficient with his necessities. If it's raining very lightly he will go outside and enjoy his time. If we are already outside and it starts raining heavily, he seeks comfort/hugs from males [no matter the age]). Where I am, it is the rainy season. It may rain three times a day. I'm working on timing his outside time when there is a break between rains even if it's less than 4 hours since the last time he went potty. I have gotten him to do some training with high value treats during a storm...
