Shutting Down (For Now)
Hey Everyone, I wanted to share a quick update and be transparent with you. Over the past couple months, I’ve realized that the best use of my time right now is to focus fully on creating free chess content and game reviews—especially for newer players ♟️—through YouTube and possibly live streams. That’s where I can help the most people and build something sustainable long term. My time also have been split between my business and is making it difficult to focus on chess content. Because of this, I’ll be closing this Skool community for now. This isn’t the end of Chess Apprentice—just a shift in focus. If and when I reopen a community in the future, it will be with a clearer structure, more consistent activity, and a stronger foundation behind it. I want to give a genuine thank-you to the early members who joined, posted, and supported this from the beginning ♟️ You were the first to believe in the idea, and I really appreciate that. When Chess Apprentice takes its next step, this early chapter won’t be forgotten. If you’d like to keep learning with me, you can find all current (and future) content here: 👉 [ YouTube channel link] Thank you again for being here, and I hope to see you around the board ♟️ I hope to stay connected with you! If you also make Chess content, list your YouTube link in the comments! Skool will stay open until 02/02/2026

This is sad to hear but I understand you want to be able to give 100% to your community. This community has been great and I look forward to seeing it pop up again in the future We will have to play some games online sometime also! Thanks again for creating this community and helping to spread the love of chess!
Tough Loss
https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/daily/916378057/ I don't play daily often anymore. But I played this one. While I lost, I played at a 89% accuracy. I am happy with that. My opponent played at 96%. Craziness! Looking at the game, I should have allowed him to capture my bishop since he had a super knight if he wanted to trade.

Looks like you played really well. From the analysis id say a few points not that I'd be a whole lot better haha - 17.ng5 I think was not terrible but I'd rather trade your dark squared bishop off instead because you could put your knight on G5 after which I think would be better - 19. Dxc5 should have waited as you didn't have sufficient pressure on the c file. Even though material was even you allowed the rook to infiltrate. Even though you did get your knight in and win another pawn he had good control over the open file. After something like RC1, cxd4, Qd3 you could win the pawn back after forcing the queen away - 25.bh4 I think personally I would have even played but clearly the engine wants the bishop more active in the center - 29. A4 just hangs a clean pawn - 33.rh5 I don't really understand. Maybe you were hoping the opponent would push G6 and even though you could win a pawn your rook would have to Zig Zag out which probably isn't worth the effort. Instead you could push your pawns which would have also prevented what happened to end the game Overall really solid game you played very well but your opponent was able to punish all the pawns that were left hanging which sucks
Make it make sense!
I’ve been stuck around 1400 on chess dot com. I best a guy a few weeks ago. He was 1378. I checked his rating now, he’s over 1500. How is this possible? Perhaps I need to play more if I want to get the rating up!

1400 nearly broke me. I always try to play at least 1 game a day myself To progress past 1400 I studied every day from books and did daily puzzles. Went deeper into analysis and openings I still view 1400 as the worst rating in chess. I genuinely 100% believe it's not possible to progress past this without serious study. Getting through how to reassess your chess was probably my biggest help I was stuck at 1400 for nearly a year and I was reading that book for at least 6 months of that stretch before I broke through. On my first account I was able to go from 1400-1598 then I made my new account that after 20 game I was 1670 and at the time I finished the book was just over 1700
