I do wholeheartedly believe that law enforcement should be trained on how to IDENTIFY, understand, and engage with neurodivergent individuals; it is mentioned too frequently how an individual has been abused by use of excessive force or have lost their life due to lack of knowledge of the signs and behaviors of an autistic individual or anyone struggling with mental illness.

As a neurodivergent family, I can attest that daily life presents with its challenges. It has been helpful that I am a Mental Health Therapist and have been able to research better ways to provide calmer day to day functioning within the home. Although I am aware not every family possesses the same knowledge, it has been important for myself to help others to learn to accumulate the necessary tools that can be helpful 😊 It can certainly be taxing on intimate relationships/marriage without the proper tools.
