Transition, You 2.0, and the Line of Terror
Last week in our challenge, we talked a lot about the feeling of transition — and the vision for the life you want to build next. In today’s email newsletter, I shared a bit more about my daughter's wedding, AI, stepping into You 2.0, and what it feels like to cross the “line of terror.” That moment right before the breakthrough, where courage matters most. If you’re in that space too, I’d love to hear: What’s your next version of you look like? 👇

One of my offers for my last book, which did not exist when I started the book, is to help teachers "sell" their curriculum to students. We assume students know why subjects like English are important, and that they all want to learn the material. In the social media consumer age students are not locked into school as we were when their age. I asked Chat to list the top twenty reasons why students do not care if they learn English. I will do the same for all other academic areas. I asked it for counters to these reasons, and what are the top careers using English, and what careers use little English but must be accurate when using it. I asked for a list of reasons why English teachers want to teach English and more questions. I was impressed with the answers and will use it to build a sales campaign for teachers to help students learn why subjects they study are important. Attendance in schools is dropping. Dropping out is financial suicide. These are priorities for schools and me. I knew most of the answers before Chat offered them, but it presented additional ideas. It raises questions about what I can use and still put a copyright on the material I generate. Is it permissible to simply rewrite the material? Is it permissible to put a Copyright on the material and not actually copyright it? I want to follow the rules, but engaging and uplifting students and preventing dropping out of school trumps technicalities. I appreciate guidance in a world full of floating rules.

Thank you for all of the insight you share. I appreciate how you put so much time into staying up to date on so many topics. It makes our lives easier.
👋🏼Hello! Let's get to know each other in this thread.
Here's a quick 3-part intro you can copy-paste to type in below...or respond by video! No need to overthink it—have fun with it! 1. My Book - or Book Idea: Just a sentence or two—even if it’s still fuzzy! 2. My Bigger Business Vision: Where you want your work to take you in the next few years. 3. One “weird” thing about me that’s totally unrelated to business: (We love pets, hobbies, travel dreams, odd skills, whatever!) Can’t wait to hear from you!

Neil Feser 1. My Book - or Book Idea: Mastering Mind Mud for Seniors Mind mud is worry, stress, missed opportunities, etc. that seniors must come to peace with or possibly still deal with in their last years. 2. My Bigger Business Vision: I have a potential ally I will contact to help spread the book and presentations to help the elderly. 3. One “weird” thing about me that’s totally unrelated to business: I started out as a comedy writer.
