@Rowena Saliba I would suggest Define policies and standards. In my last project we followed the below steps: >Understand the purpose of governance initiative ( eg- Regulatory purpose) >Secured executive sponsorship and created relevant stakeholders list. >Define roles and responsibilities >Assess Current State(Evaluate existing data quality, systems, processes, and policies.) >Identified risks, gaps, documented and decided on priority data domains to start with. Started with critical data elements (CDEs) >Define policies and standards ( metadata, data quality , storage, privacy ) >Created Standard operating documents ( SOPs ) >Implementation of the policies. assigned ownership to data owners or stewards for implementations. >Implement Data quality procedure. >Regular monitor, review and update. In between tools and technologies introductions were there. For metadata, data lineage , data quality . This is what I can recall for now. Hope this helps . Start small with critical data elements, and gradually expand to all domains.
