🎥 WATCH RECORDING HERE! Aside from our very unfortunately technology malfunction, last night was so much fun! It was so awesome to hear from Steph Guild, CFA, Senior Director of Robinhood last night. She was an awesome infusion of energy and had so much wisdom to share for people at all levels of their investing journey. ✨Our biggest takeaway... She was talking about the deficit spending of the government and emphasizing HOW important it is to take SAVING into your own hands and not rely on the government to be able to help you like previous generations have. It may seem like a scary thought, but she was also able to break down how investing $1/day is enough to get started and how that can compound over time with conservative returns. The KEY to that is once you get comfortable, start investing more, and more and more. There are a lot more gems we discussed, like what her favorite money memory is and how that influenced her to get into finance, how AI is impacting investing and best books to read. I spend the last hour updating our budget from May, I was very behind as we have had a fairly chaotic month! I like to catch up on transactions every week but it has been wild times over here. As I was reviewing one of our credit cards, I was like... 🤨 Why do I have so many charged for $5.99 happening?! Realized I had subscribed to an app to help me clean all the excess photos on my phone... which was supposed to help us SAVE money because I did not want to level up my Apple iCloud storage. I guess at some point over the last couple of months, I caved on the apple storage and never cancelled this subscription. And after further review, we have been charged 10 times total for this subscription that I was not using and spent $77.87 over the course of the last 3 months. 😭 Maybe 77.87 doesn't seem like a lot.... BUT if we had invested the $77.87 and then continued to contribute $5.99/week or $23/month. This is what would happen to our money in 5 years and in 10 years! Key Take Aways: 1️⃣ Check your subscriptions regularly, life gets busy we forget and we spend money on stuff we don't need 2️⃣ Don't underestimate the little money you might feel like you have to invest. It pays off to be consistent regardless of how much you invest. 3️⃣ Even the "experts" get caught up in the everyday chaos of life, the important thing is to course correct and get back on track. I'm still chalking this up as a 🏆WIN, because it has turned into a great teaching point!
