@Jai Ferrell Sure! One thing I've learned is to play Chess with people not checkers. When something happens don't react right away, if you can help it. Keep track of things, for example save important emails and screenshots and forward them to your personal email. If you're terminated or recieve backlash for speaking up you will have a winning lawsuit with receipts. Always take time to come up with a strategy before acting. If you can find a manager that you get along with, request to start meeting with that person once a month or so for "advice" on how to navigate certain situations. Have your talking points ready and you can say things like "my team is great, but I have some issues on follow through when I'm delegating task. How would you navigate that situation?" Or I really value my job and I would like to add more value to the company by reaching a (insert desired position). Could you share some strategies or next steps to achieve that goal? This will do two things, higher ups will be aware of issues and/or your feelings and awareness of you being overlooked. And it gives them a chance to rectify the situation behind the scenes, which most companies would appreciate. We have to speak up and advocate for ourselves. I hope some find this helpful!
