Army Vet, AI beginner and currently lost somewhere between Claude Code and Discord 🤣
Hey y’all! I’m a former Army guy who spent 10 years in the military, and ever since getting out, I’ve wanted to get serious about learning AI. The problem is that there’s so much noise out there that it’s easy to spend all day learning about AI without ever becoming good at actually building anything. To make matters worse, I’m still not entirely sure what I want to build yet 😂 I guess thats why I ultimately joined this community. I’m currently working through the Foundations course in the classroom, and I’m also a VIP member. Full disclosure, though lol I still don’t really know how to navigate Discord or the Skool community so I will definitely be attending the onboarding call this week. I joined the community about a month ago or so. But I’ve been inactive recently because life decided to life for a little while, but things have settled down and I’m ready to start showing up, learning and putting in the work. That brings me to the 12-week cohort… Has it already started? Can I still join the waitlist? And how do I decide which track is right for me? Right now, I’m leaning toward the Technical cohort because I want to become genuinely skilled with Claude Code and coding—not just learn how to prompt an AI and hope for the best. I guess my long-term goal is to understand how these systems actually work, use ICM as an engineering methodology, and eventually become capable of building durable AI systems and products myself. Ideally, that leads to employment, my own business, or both. My only hesitation is that I’m still very much a beginner, so I’m not sure whether the Technical track is the smartest place to start or whether I’d be jumping into the deep end wearing combat boots. My wife also owns a med spa, and I’d love to eventually use what I learn to help improve and grow her business. I don’t know exactly what that looks like yet (ie marketing systems, automations, internal tools, lead generation, or something I haven’t thought of) but I’m hoping the process will help me figure that out.

@Jake Van Clief Hey man, yeah, I got out of the Army in 2024 out of Fort Hood, TX. I was deployed to Al-Asad, Iraq in 2017-2018. Maybe our paths crossed at some point lol. But yeah, thanks for the response and some clarification. I will try to attend the onboarding call this week and I already joined the waitlist!
❗The Lyceum opens this Thursday: live webinar at 7 PM ET❗
Thursday, July 16 at 7:00 PM ET. Quick version for anyone who hasn't been following: The Lyceum is Eduba's 12-week AI certification program and the first credential we've ever issued. Over 3,000 people are on the waitlist and seats per cohort are limited. What we'll cover in the hour: 01 / The structure. 12 weeks, three sprints, nine live sessions, 18 hours of instruction, 12 instructors per cohort. 02 / The cohorts. Technical, Business, and Creator. Same core curriculum, weighted differently. We'll walk through how to pick yours. 03 / The competition. $250,000+ in prizes across the tiers and how your capstone feeds into it. 04 / The certification. What you have to do to earn it and what it actually certifies. 05 / The investment. What it costs, how payment works, and who should not enroll. Then live Q&A until the questions run out. One more thing. At the end of the session we're doing something for the people actually in the room. It's capped at a small number, it goes in the order people claim it, and we're not putting it in writing. Be there and stay to the end. The session is live only. No recording going out. Thursday · July 16 · 7:00 PM ET skool.com/live/XM7969jTG7L Come with the hard questions. Bring the skeptical ones too. That's what the hour is for.

What if we can’t make it?
🎆 THE LAST SALE EVER — HELP US GET TO VEGAS 🎆
🎯 WE READ ALL OF YOUR RESPONSES. HERE'S WHAT'S NEXT (AND A BIG ASK) A couple weeks ago we asked you what you wanted Clief Notes to become. You showed up. You wrote real, thoughtful answers, some of you wrote essays. We read every single one. Twice. So before anything else: thank you. This post is us answering you. 💬 YOU TOLD US. HERE'S WHAT WE'RE BUILDING. You said you want a clearer path from learning ICM to actually getting paid for it. → It's coming. A real learning-to-earning track, plus a talent platform we're building to connect you with people who want to hire what you can do. Heads up: the talent platform will be Premium and VIP only, one more reason to lock in below. You said competitions without feedback don't help you grow. → Fixed. Going forward, every single entrant gets tailored feedback on their build, not just the winner. We're moving to two competitions a month so we can do it right. And both monthly winners get a 30-minute call with me. You said the best builds get buried in the feed. → We're building a tagged library so you can actually find "ICM setups for solo operators" or "small team, non-coder" instead of scrolling for an hour. You said you couldn't map all the pieces, Skool, Discord, the Lyceum, ICM, what each tier unlocks. → A single orientation page is on the way. One place that breaks all of it down so nobody's lost. You said you want to connect with each other. → We hear you. Meetups, pairing, and a recorded "After Tea" hangout are on the table. South Florida alone has over 1,000 of you. Let's use that. You said we've felt spread thin. → The most honest one. You're right. We're bringing on real help to run the day-to-day so the community gets consistency, and so Matt and I can keep building the things above instead of dropping balls. You called it, and we're fixing it. 📍 QUICK NOTE ON ICM: a few of you asked for "ICM with Copilot" or "ICM with n8n, Sheets, GoHighLevel." Good news, ICM already works with any model and feeds straight into the tools you're using. It's the structure underneath all of them, not a separate thing you have to relearn per tool. If that's not landing for you, that's on us to make clearer, and we will.

Hey, Jake and team…I just upgraded from Premium to VIP. Im new to this community and haven’t really had the moment to start learning or introduced myself yet (I will) but I’m up at midnight feeding my 1.5 yo son and saw this post and pulled the VIP trigger. I think there are rare moments in life that are meant to be seized, and this felt like one of them 🤝
