Gents, The following are some salient points that came from the Word and nuggets of wisdom from those that participated this morning! By no means will it cover everything as there was a ton of goodness flowing this morning! Proverbs 19: 1. “A foolish child is a father’s ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like the constant dripping of a leaky roof.” Proverbs 19:13 - Even though a quarrelsome wife may be like a leaky roof, she is also the same person that will pull you out of a rut in a time of need. God makes no mistakes. Just because something is not yet realized does not mean it will not come to fruition. - Guys think in terms of subjects in boxes, women think in terms of subjects and spiderwebs. Best piece advice, seek first to understand before being understood. 2. “Discipline your children, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to their death.” Proverbs 19:18 Discipline: - Action = Love - Inaction = Death - As fathers we want the best for our children with the hope that they can listen to the wisdom gained from experience; however, as we all know, God has given humanity free will and unfortunately oftentimes kids opt to gain wisdom through their own experiences. - All that to say experiential wisdom often comes from discipline (consequences). No discipline (inaction) is not love, it leads to death as scripture tells us. - It’s the same in the context between God and his children. So rejoice that God loves us enough to allow consequences to bad decisions because we know trials bring perseverance which is outlined in James 1:3-4 3. “Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.” ‭‭ Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭20‬ ‭ The law of Consistency: - "Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time" - Motivation gets you going- Discipline keeps your growing Be Blessed!
