@Thomas Wanca 28 years is also amazing! I developed a disabling condition and had to leave the job I wanted to be doing until I retired.

Disabled Widow Benefits
Hi Everyone, I'm Natalie from Nevada and the 60's are around the corner. I am disabled and thanks to Ed's YouTube channel I found out that I could qualify for Survivor Benefits prior to being 60. My #1 worry is the Notice of Award letter for Survivor Benefits.

@Ed Weir Ed why would they change my Disability Date? Am I going to have to pay back all the SSDI payments and Medicare I received since 2009? Also, is there any way I would qualify for the 12-month retroactive pay?

@Julie Hemley Hello Julie, I am also disabled from MS. Are you able to qualify for health insurance through your State Medicaid Program or the Federal Marketplace? Are you taking any DMT for the MS? There are some foundations that may be able to help with Rx copays, health insurance premiums, etc. But one of the conditions is that you need to be on health insurance. Check into https://fundfinder.org/ and https://findhelp.org/ Hope this helps, Good Luck
Has Dr. Ed helped you? Please share your story here.
Hey everyone! If you’ve been here a while, you’ve probably seen how many new members arrive scared, confused, and worried they’re about to make an irreversible mistake with Social Security or Medicare. Filing for social security and medicare and making sure you get it right as well as retiring and starting a whole new life is a very difficult and stressful time in everyone's life. Reading a real story from someone who’s “been there” can calm people down faster than any brochure. If Dr. Ed or this community has helped you in any way, would you be willing to share your story in the comments? You don’t have to write anything fancy. Just answer these in your own words: 1. What was going on before you found us? 2. What were you most worried you might mess up? 3. What almost kept you from asking for help or joining? 4. What did you actually do here that helped (class, checklist, Q&A, plan, etc.)? 5. What’s better now because of that help? (Only share dollars or details if you feel comfortable.) Your story might be exactly what a scared new member needs to read at 2 a.m. so they don’t feel alone. Quick safety note: please don’t post your SSN, full claim number, or other very private details. Keep it to your situation, what you did, and what changed. Thank you for being willing to help the next person in line.

Yes, Dr. Ed's YouTube video is where I found out that I was entitled to Survivor Benefits and that I could file before 60 because I am disabled.
