Area Smoke Conditions?
How is the smoke in Mammoth? Is it persistent? AQI maps indicate high numbers. Anything over 65 is quite hazardous to your health. Leading Pulmonary doctors even suggest over 50 is unhealthy. i have been seeing 100 plus in Mammoth.

It's not persistent, but it has been really bad. Theres a huge plume overhead this afternoon with raining ash as the fire is pushing for 10k acres in a single day. Pray for rain this week!

Is Reds Meadows open on the Sat/Sun in June as it was supposed to be this season? I saw the town posted it was last weekend, but can't get anyone on the phone at the welcome center and no info online :(

I've been living in Mammoth for a few yrs, but have been visiting for over 20.Besides snowboarding in the winter, I enjoy backpacking in the summer :)
