Two questions
1. My 4th son is consistently requesting to self teach? (With supervision im guessing) have you heard of this?? He will probe me with questions and his own logical reasons as to why self teaching is positive for him. He confidently feels it's practical and within reach. I shrug him off but wonder if it's a real thing? I believe he out smarts me and this will be what makes sense for us 😆. 2. Our 8 year old is an avid reader but will not freely read unless encouraged, how can I implement a strategy to make a habit rather than a chore? Thanks 😊

@Sophia Morrison thank you, this makes complete sense, so I'm still driving but he's giving me directions. I will give this a go and let you know how we get on. He will be very pleased as I have been reluctant to attempt it.

@Sophia Morrison I love the movie idea, there are loads that we can do! Even movies we've seen before as we can compare . The action bible is a good idea, I never thought about that for him, I keep forgetting he's a big boy as he's the 'baby' in the house. Probably stunting his growth. I will need more reminders like this please 🙂 and ok Dog man, haven't heard of this one. Will have a look on audible, may be fun listening while doing his hair. Great ideas, thanks Sophia 😊
The Eldest
So Enriquez Just joined the group! My eldest! He is the reason that we began home educating back in 2013! He was homeschooled (I know its called home education but "homeschooled" rolls of my tongue better 😉) for 6 years and never went to highschool! He has now graduated from University as a Medical Scientist and works for the NHS! When he is ready he can introduce himself properly lol! He used to teach English Literature to Home ed kids but I think he is rather busy these days but he has a passion for books and Greek Mythology

7 Day Count Down
In 7 days, my daughter gets her A-Level results.Home educated from age 6 to 16, she took the leap into school and spent the last two years studying Philosophy, Politics, English Literature, and completing an EPQ — all while doing her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. We’ve just come off a call with BBC Bitesize producers who want to interview her — let’s see how that goes! She’s handled it all with so much strength, and I’m beyond proud of her — not just for what she’s done, but for who she is. 💛 What about you?Is anything big happening for you or your family this month? Is anyone starting their GCSE or A-Level journey? Getting results? Taking a leap of their own? I’d love to hear — let’s support and celebrate each other through it all.

How exciting!!! Omdaze!! BbC is a huge achievement, I pray the results are exactly what is needed! We are heading into GCSE territory and my 2nd oldest is beginning Alevel year. He will also take a driving test in the new year. My 4th son is consistently requesting to self teach? (With supervision) have you heard of this?? I believe he out smarts me and this will be what makes sense for us 😆. Our 8 year old is an avid reader but will not freely read unless encouraged, how can I implement a strategy to make a habit rather than a chore? Thanks, sorry for the waffle!
