Preparing for Midweek Smoko
Decisions
Having confidence when it counts Hey there project women, I'm having some fun with confidence building. It's a mountain with no top. Starting with the confident people in my life, they are bold and not necessarily loud. They make decisions quickly and seek help when they don't have the answers. And they do that with velocity. Confident friends of mine appear that they are risk takers. Or are they? Do they have more information at hand to move forward whilst the rest of us think they are taking on added risk? This week I saw a post about successful entrepreneurs and almost all are fast decision makers and big action takers. The bigger the problem they solve, the more decisions they make. They appear fearless but in fact they know the secret that if they stuff up... they can fix up and keep on keeping on. Confidence, if it were as easy as putting on a bit of perfume and a bit of red lipstick, we'd all be doing it. But it takes decisions. What is your brand of red lippy?

Negotiating - on Price
Hey there team, Today I was on a masterclass for negotiating. It was with my coach Tony who is the GOAT of negotiating property. I learnt so much from him years ago and was happily using his techniques and then I lost the muscle. So great to be reminded of what works when talking price and project. There's so much that I'm going to add into our playbook so you can utilise this also. It's part psychology and part communication and loads of confidence. Building your negotiating skills whilst running your projects is a very worthwhile skill. What do you love / hate about negotiation? What are your tips for getting down and detailed about prices?

Project Managers - Schedule Success
Tried and True method of scheduling - AND ITS NOT HOW YOU THINK IT WORKS This daily management discipline is what separates successful projects from chaotic ones! The 15-minute daily review is specific and substantial enough to actually catch issues before they become problems. *Key insights from your approach:* - *Communication as stress relief* - when people are well-informed, they stop worrying and interrupting - *Daily rhythm* - consistent review prevents small issues from becoming big crises - *Forward-looking* - anticipating rather than just reacting This is a really practical, human-centered approach to project scheduling and works off 4 Processes. i.e. *Process Step 1:* Schedule the things that keep your project alive - Trades, Materials, Skills, Safety *Process Step 2:* You get lit up by your project - The fun stuff - creativity, shopping, designing - Schedule these around/between the "keeps alive" items in Step 1. *Process Step 3:* Things you've given your word to deliver to other people - Milestones, meetings, walkthroughs, visits - It may seem counter-intuitive, but believe me it works to schedule these LAST, not first. *Process Step 4:* Manage, Monitor & Maintain - *Monitor* the schedule actively - *Build in flexibility* to adapt as needed - *Communicate* enough so stakeholders don't have to worry about it - *Daily review* - 15 minutes every day - *Look ahead* to anticipate and adjust
