Challenge 3: Share Your Tiny Fairy Lantern or Light
I saw that many of you already finished the first two challenges, so I thought it was time to add a new one.😉 This is the sharing post for our third Fairyland Challenge: Crafting Your Own Enchanting Fairy Lantern Create your own fairy lantern or any kind of tiny light source for your fairyland. I added a small tutorial from one of my own fairy lantern projects here, in case you would like some inspiration 😊 Once you’ve made your lantern or light, you’re invited to share a photo in the comments below. It doesn’t have to be perfect, polished, or fancy - the magic is in trying, using what you have, and seeing how everyone creates something different. If you’d like, you can also tell us a little about your fairy light: - Where did you find your materials? - What did you use - acorn caps, jars, beads, wire, paper, moss, sticks, bark, or something else? - Did you make it glow with a tiny light, sunlight, reflection, or imagination? - How did you put it together? - Where did your tiny lantern or light end up? I can’t wait to see all the tiny lights appearing in our fairylands.

I can hardly wait to try this!
Leftovers
Sometimes when I am completing builds, I will have odds and ends leftover. I like to use them to create something else. Today I used this twig that reminded me of an abandoned stump. The flower pots are made from paper, the nest is dried grass roots. I used a real robin egg in the nest(I just crushed up the shell), the stones and rocks I collected from the beach and for the pumpkin I used polymer clay. I used the spool to give you an idea of scale, I like to refer to it as fairy scale. 😬

What a good idea for the nest!
Tea with.the Fairies
This is not about building something, but I thought you might enjoy this photo I took when my granddaughter and I were having tea with the fairies. She was 6 at the time(now18). When I sent her the picture she said” you know, I didn’t actually see the fairy, but maybe only cameras can see fairies. “

Another gourd
This is not technically a fairy house because a mermaid lives inside. I don’t live near mossy forests, so I make do with what I have.

Fairy house
Here is a fairy house I made out of two gourds. It needs a little freshening up, but I thought I’d post it anyway. I have a fairy village underneath an Indian hawthorn bush in my back garden. I’ll post a picture another time.

@Carissa England I let it dry thoroughly. Sometimes it takes months, depending on your climate. If you live in Southern California, there is ( or at least used to be-I haven’t been there in years) a gourd farm in Fallbrook where you could buy dried gourds of all sizes and shapes.

I have loved fairies since was a child. Right now I have a fairy village under an Indian Hawthorne bush.
