Salam ikhwa, I wanted to ask whatโ€™s a good laptop or pc thatโ€™s good for video editing, other than MacBooks? Budget friendly. Jzk Allah khair

Why other than MacBooks brother? The Apple chip's are incredible at handling the processing of video editing projects and exports, even from the M1 chip onwards

@Umar Yahaya Fair enough bro I think the M1 laptops should be of the same budget as what you might be looking for, mainly because they've been out for a while. Bought my first Mac in 2013 and its still running really well today, they last long alhamdulillah
Game Time
I believe everyone has been onboarded or is on the way in sha Allah, the first module will be out Wednesday 1pm! I'll be testing you guys on the content randomly during live sessions.

Salaam brothers has this been released yet as itโ€™s passed 1PM UK time? I donโ€™t seem to have access to any lessons but if itโ€™s not ready then no worries - just checking I havenโ€™t missed anything
Editing software
Salam Alekoum brothers, when it comes to video editing, which program is best suited to edit automotive & realestate projects and an overall ease of use? I have been advised previously to use the Davinci Resolve 19. Is this advisable? Also, should I be looking at getting a well equipped desktop or a laptop as I do travel some of the time. Any recommended laptop brand or specs? JazakAllah Khair

Premiere Pro is really great as an all rounder, DaVinci is really good and has way more functionality for top level colour grading if thatโ€™s what you need. Iโ€™ll be honest with you bro, to level up in this game you need to be proficient in both/if not all so you can benefit from the different features they have. I started with Final Cut Pro, moved to DaVinci and forced myself to use and learn it and was used to it within a day, then I had to use Premiere Pro for another feature and after a month or two I was competent enough for delivering my projects Alhamdulillah. Now if I have an edit in Premiere Pro that I need to add some softness or other things to, I import into DaVinci and benefit from their features etc so itโ€™ll open up a lot more avenues for you. Sometimes I even auto caption on CapCut and use templates to save time - get to a solid level like Br. Abid said in everything, youโ€™d be surprised how quickly youโ€™ll do it!
RFI-Need Advice
Salam Brothers? Looking for a new Video Camera to use for my current Real-estate & Automotive Client projects. I have been looking at the Sony A7SIII or the FX3. Please advise which is most suitable for this application or any other camera. (I am originally a photographer using Canon 80D) Much appreciated brothers

W/Salaam, they both share the same full-frame sensor so will capture really good footage/image quality, A7SIII is a better hybrid camera in comparison, has a really good accurate viewfinder which the FX3 doesn't. I think the main difference is the FX3 is more geared for cinematic video use and has some great cinematic focussed features like built in lut monitoring, cine.ei shooting etc but it also depends - are you in need of the extra cinematic features or a hybrid camera? Photography on the A7SIII is much better. The camera body is another big difference. FX3 has 3 mounting points rather than 1 on the A7SIII (if it matters) and ergonomically better too but that's subjective tbh. The FX3 has a vent fan which is really good if you've ever experienced overheating issues but the A7SIII doesn't really have that problem from experience. If you're a cinematographer, for serious video production going for cinematic video only then the FX3 is probably the better option with the cinematic features. If not, the A7SIII can do everything you need, and save you some money But I feel like if you are new to videography and your projects aren't in need of the features the FX3 has, picking up an A7SIII at a cheaper price is not a bad idea too. Just as long as it's within your budget.

@Abdul Qadir Df Honestly if youโ€™re considering the A7iii, then spend or save the extra cash and get the A7IV instead, itโ€™s an incredible camera and has amazing specs and features. I use two of them and although Iโ€™ve had overheating issues when filming for hours on end, I have a Ulanzi fan as a backup which sorts heat issues quickly - I use them for podcast filming set ups too. Out of the options donโ€™t get the A7iii, the A7IV is the one.
What was the first project you worked on?
Assalamu Alaykum everyone, really great to see everyone active in the community looking to improve their skills/knowledge. I've been a videographer for a few years, and as a keen problem solver, helping people/businesses find solutions for their problems through content, marketing and videography started my journey in this space. I was attending a class a few years back, where our teacher mentioned that the knowledge being shared shouldn't be stuck in the class we were in, the knowledge is an amana (trust) that needs to be shared within our communities, and after that class I decided to volunteer and help the charity running the events with filming, editing and managing social channels/youtube and more. Along the way I realised my passion was in helping other people/businesses trying to achieve similar goals, such as event signups, more customers for businesses etc and fast forward a few years I now have a few clients by the Grace of Allah. I'm here to learn how I can get better and fully understand how to make clients money through creating content that achieves their goals - even if I was the best at what I do (which I'm not), I believe you can never stop learning and there's always something to improve on. I'd love to hear how you all got started in this space - may Allah increase you all and make this journey beneficial for you, your families, communities and more bi ithnillah. @nabzvideproductions on instagram, I need to update my portfolio lol
