🎉story time
I hit 100 videos the other day… and I almost didn’t even stop to celebrate because life has been FULL. But I had to share this because God is too intentional not to acknowledge it. When I first started this journey, I remember seeing an ad for this program… and that same night I prayed for an extra stream of income…something easy, something that fit what I was already doing. Something busy mom life could manage. At 2:30am, I woke up out of nowhere saw the ad and heard, “This is what you’re going to do.” I stayed up the rest of the night into the next day, learning, watching, and just going ALL IN. I applied got approved and then submitted my first 3 videos a couple days later. A week later was fully in functioning mode and I haven’t stopped since. Since January 15, I’ve been consistently posting one video a day (missed just a few 🙌🏽). A month or so in, I landed my first brand deal…and it was a Christian brand, a t-shirt that says, “Jesus always has my back” That alone felt like confirmation that God had His hand on this. Fast forward… I’m about to hit 100 videos, and that SAME brand reached back out for another video, different shirt that says “not perfect just forgiven” God really be tying things together in ways you can’t plan. Time to upload the vide and realized wow! My 100th video just happened to be this shirt! Like what are the odds? And this past weekend, when I needed encouragement the most and just chose to stay focused and trust Him… FOUR brand deals showed up at my door. God is so good. His timing, His strategy, His provision…it doesn’t always make sense in the moment, but it’s always right. If He told you to start something… stay the course. Even when it feels slow. Even when it feels unseen. He sees the bigger picture. With that being said I’m goin to keep going, regardless how discouraged I can get at times…He’s in control and I’m just along for the ride. 🤍 🙌 I’m now at like 109 vids. Woo! Anyway had to share. He’s sooo good!

@Barbara Dains love that!
Another way to use ChatGPT
So, since I'm trying to be more selective I was asking Chat a question for an email response and stumbled across another cool feature. I was able to give it the basic info of units sold, revenue, influencer count, and potential commission and it broke down how much I would make per sale, whether it would be worth reviewing and I learned about BSR(Best Sellers Rank) that Amazon gives each product which can also help. Anyways, sometimes I look at the numbers and its still hard for me to decide, so this is helpful. This one was on the line for me, but I figured it could still end up being an okay product and Chat confirmed that. I know Oink kind of does this with its calculator tool too. But, sometimes its helpful to talk it through. :)

@Cydney Henry initially I feel like it was pretty in line with what I see people post in groups, but honestly I wasn’t comfortable charging $200. So Chat kind of knows where I want to be at. I start at $25 for an Amazon video. I have an ongoing deal with one brand at that rate. I’ve had others closer to $10-$15. And really I’m just trying to figure it all out. But, with the changes it makes it easier to say no if they won’t pay. I can spend my time building my offsite instead of videos if needed. One scenario I’m still not sure about is rights. Still trying to figure that one out.

@Cydney Henry I will say that my price also depends on CC and if I want the product. I just said yes to one today that doesn’t even have CC, but it will be an awesome gift for my sister and it’s a $70 item. There’s so many factors to always consider.😅
First negative day😭
I woke up to almost $-10 in commission today. I know it’s going to level out, but dang. And, I read a post showing wording from Amazon that says we basically only get paid for the tagged product. Not even a variation of that product. So zero halo sales. I’m willing to ride this out, but Amazon is making this an emotional roller coaster. I get over one thing and it feels like they kick me as I’m getting up.😆

I’ve never had one before, but I know it’s because items returned at a higher commission are now coming out of my lower commission earnings.
Time for some Real Talk.
I know I posted the commission changes last night, so I hope you all had a chance to feel your feelings, maybe have a little cry about it, vent to your husband, your friend, your dog… whatever you needed to do. And now- we move on. Because naturally, I’ve spent the last 24+ hours doing what I always do when something like this happens… I went down the rabbit hole. I watched a ton of videos, listened to other creators (including a lot of the ones we all follow), and really thought long and hard about what this actually means for us moving forward. And here’s where I’ve landed… I still do NOT think this is the end of the Amazon Influencer Program. Not even close. Yes- on-site commissions got cut. And yes, that sucks. I’m not going to sugar-coat that. But when you actually zoom out and look at the numbers, we’re really talking about a 1–2% difference. That’s it. Onsite commission percentages were never very high. And if you’ve been around long enough, you know this isn’t the first time. A few years ago, commissions were sitting around 4–8%. Then they dropped to 2–4% and guess what- people continued to make really good $$. Now we’re sitting around 0.5–3%. So yes- it’s lower. But this isn’t some shocking, apocalyptic collapse. And what this really does is force us to get more intentional. If we’re being honest, there was a period of time where people were making money a little too easily—on products they didn’t own, content they didn’t really create , and just low-effort uploads. Which sucks in the short term for those of us who have been authentically growing while also reaping the benefits but it also creates more space for people who are actually willing to do this properly. That’s us and really- everything we’ve been doing in this group was already building toward this. More focus on product research. More focus on choosing the right products. Leaning into Creator Connections. And not relying on just one stream of income. If you’ve been here since January and actually following the weekly challenge, you know this was structured intentionally and the goal has always been multiple income streams from 1 video.
Time for some Real Talk.

@Lorah McCorriston I was just talking about this with my husband. I’m going to start setting some money aside each month so I can have a savings to use on buying product. I hate just randomly scrolling through CC, but seeing a little red dot on my messages is rather exciting.😂

@Lorah McCorriston but there’s always the chance it’s the golden egg.😂
