🖤✨ Get to Know Me + Introduce Yourself
Hi everyone, and welcome—I am so truly glad you’re here. 🖤 I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and also invite you to share your story, because this space is not just about learning—it’s about connection, growth, and building something meaningful together. My name is Jessica Ann Disciacca, and I’m a dark fantasy author, world-builder, and the co-founder of Dark Flame Society, where I create immersive literary events and opportunities that support authors, artists, and creatives. My writing journey began back in high school, but I officially wrote my first book in 2019 called The Morn Series. That first draft came in at over 350,000 words (yes… it was a lot 😅), and I remember feeling completely overwhelmed by the editing process. Instead of pushing through, I set it aside and started something new—Awakening the Dark Throne. I wrote that book in just two weeks, and in 2024 it was picked up by a publisher. While that experience taught me so much, I quickly realized that traditional publishing—at least with certain publishers—wasn’t the right fit for me. That’s when I fully stepped into the indie author world. From there, I dove in completely. I took classes, studied everything I could, learned through trial and error, and built my process from the ground up. My first year, I published four books. My second year, two more—and this year, I’m publishing my seventh. Now, my passion is helping other authors navigate this journey with more clarity, confidence, and support than I had in the beginning. Through my books, events, and communities like this one, my goal is simple:👉 to help you grow, be seen, and succeed as an author. ✨ Now it’s your turn… I would love to get to know you! Drop a comment below and share: 📖 What are you currently working on? ✍️ Are you writing your first book or have you already published? 🔥 What genre do you write in? 🎯 What is your biggest goal as an author right now? 💭 What is one thing you’re currently struggling with or want to learn?

Hello everyone! My name is Samantha, otherwise known as MS in the writing world. I am a multi-genre self-published author from Kansas City, Missouri. My works include the dark fantasy trilogy The Sisters of the Moon, psychological thriller Seclusion, Macabre: A Horror Anthology, and sci-fi horrormance MandeVilla. I have a new nostalgic coming-of-age adventure book coming out this summer, and so many other exciting things in the works! I love to read and began writing at a very young age. My mother was also a writer and really inspired and encouraged my writing. My daughters are a huge part of my team! The oldest, Beverly, is my cover artist, and my youngest, Missy, is my editor. My biggest goal at the moment is to get my new book out. Then I am working on a short horror story that will be included in an anthology, a “Choose Your Own Adventure” style book I promised my 10-year-old grandsons I would write for and with them, and continuing work on “The Descendants of the Moon”, which is a second trilogy that accompanies my Sisters of the Moon trilogy. Things I am currently struggling with or want to learn: Succeeding! My books are only on Amazon, and sales are slim to none as the platform is so saturated, and marketing yourself is a really hard thing! I do as many in-person events as I can. We authors know how all these things go. Time and money across the board. I would love for my books to be everywhere, but this process is completely overwhelming for me. I’m not exactly sure where to begin. I know that there are numerous places I can put them digitally, and I’m working on a list of the wheres and hows. I would also like to be in bookstores and am working towards that as well. A bit about me personally: I’m really independent. So much so that I tend to shoot myself in the foot by never asking for help. It’s something I am working on. I am a very kind-hearted soul and always willing to lend a hand. I love to learn new things, and I want to see everyone succeed! I am very passionate about family, reading, cooking, travel, horror, gardening, and nature. I love to study history, lore, and legends to enrich my storytelling and truly draw inspiration from all of life’s mysteries and magic.
