Challenge 3
I challenge you to draw your country and one of its historical enemies. This way you can practice drawing different flag styles and weapons. Don't know how? We've got free courses in the classroom menu to help you start anytime. Share your drawing in the "Challenges" section so others can see and give you thumbs up. The more likes you get, the more courses you unlock and more you improve! Also share any tips to help other members. I'll go first: Bulgaria vs the Byzantine empire

Ready for a new challenge? I see people share little to no maps at all. Time to change that as I challenge you to draw a map. Can be any map - your country's, map from a conflict or a world map! Here are some tips on how to make the perfect map for your animation! 1) Find a map online, one with good quality and with everything labeled. I find GeaCron and mapz to be awesome quality websites for historical maps although a normal Google search also does the work 2) Put it in your animation software and trace it on a new layer. If there are countries in war paint them in one colour or slightly different shade of the same colour (usually red and blue, but you can try to be different). Don't forget about the sea and paint it blue as well. I make the sea in my animations very dark blue as that helps with contrast. 3) Draw the rivers and the lakes. You maybe have to use another map for that so try to align it with your map. Make the rivers and the lakes the same colour as the sea. 4) Finally show the cities and the forts. Make small point on each of the city's location and make it white with black stroke (Or the opposite way). The capitals or the important cities can have a slightly bigger point. If you make a map of a Medieval war you can label the cities with more fancy font and use fort images instead of points (You will see an example from my Ottoman empire video) Try to use all the tips to make good map. If you add rivers and cities your map and video will look 10x better Just compare my History of France video with the most recent History of Japan Waiting to see your maps my friends! (Bonus points if you add countryballs to it as well)

Challenge #5
We practiced countryball animation and drawing in the previous challenges, now its time to further upgrade your videos. Try do draw a background for your next countryballs animation. I will give you a few steps and tips: 1) Decide if its going to be a nature background or urban background. I will choose nature 2) Draw the ground - if its grass make it dark green and don't forget to add some texture by drawing zig-zag lines of the ground and painting them different shades of the original colour. If its a beach - draw wavy lines and add some dots on the ground to imitate sand and little stones. 3) Draw the landscape behind the ground - like mountains, hills, trees or sea. They don't have to as detailed as the ground. 4) The sky needs to be gradient. You can choose gradient fill by clicking on Effect (Third pic). If its a day time make the gradient from sky blue (at the top) and white (at the bottom). If its sunset use normal blue and red/pink. If its night use black and red or black and dark blue and don't forget to draw little points as stars. 5) Add details to the ground. Like grass, stones, vegetation, trees, stones. Don't add to much extra stuff as the attention of the viewer will be towards the countryballs and not as much on the background (Although its very important!) Follow these steps and lets make the best backgrounds for your countryballs animation! Share the backgrounds you drew with the community and I and all other members can help you improve them! Drop a like if you want a tutorial for city and urban backgrounds!
