how do you test an automation before you trust it with real work?
Mine, learned the hard way: I feed it a broken input on purpose and see whether it fails loudly or quietly invents an answer. The inventing is the dangerous part, because everything looks fine right up until a client finds it. The other thing that caught most of my silent failures: one log line per automation per day, so I can see at a glance what ran and what didn't. Low-tech, but it works. This group talks a lot about building fast, but I want to hear about the trust step. Those of you running automations for clients, what's your check before you hand it over?

The broken-input test catches invention, but not drift: same input, slightly wrong output, three weeks later. A fixed set of ten past cases with known good answers, re-run monthly, catches that. Silent confidence is the enemy, not loud failure.
i gave my AI agent the boring half of my agency: reading everything
rishabh here, i run a small AI automation agency. mornings used to disappear into reading: client emails, group threads, notifications across three inboxes. i'd end up busy and still miss the one message that actually needed me. so i wrote out what genuinely needs my judgment and handed the rest to an AI agent: it reads everything, drafts the routine replies in my voice, and sends me one short brief with only the decisions left. mornings went from three hours of reading to fifteen minutes of deciding, and nothing important slipped since. curious how you all handle the reading side. do you build pipelines for it too, or does the inbox still land on your desk?

The brief is the part that decides whether this holds. One line per decision, with the message it came from, so you can check it in seconds without reopening the thread. The agent can read everything; verifying stays with you.

One line per decision works if the line says what you gave up, not just what you picked. A log of choices with no rejected option is a diary. Mine is a plain text file, newest on top, and I read it before the next decision. What's your line format?
Could I ask a small favour? 🌸
I’d love to try Claude Code, and I was wondering if anyone on Claude Max had a guest pass going spare. I use ChatGPT at the moment, so a free week would give me a chance to see how they compare. You can share through /passes and get some credit too. No pressure at all, but I’d really appreciate it and would love to share how it goes!

While you wait on a pass: the Pro plan runs Claude Code too, just with tighter usage limits, so a week of comparing is still possible without Max.
Looking for Long-Term Partners to Build and Grow Together
Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well. I'm looking to connect with people based in the United States or Europe who are interested in building something profitable together over the long term. A lot of people want to start something on their own but get held back by a lack of technical skills or experience. I’m exploring a different kind of partnership where we can combine our strengths and work toward a shared goal. There’s no upfront investment required, and you don’t need advanced technical skills or previous experience. What matters most is being reliable, confident, willing to learn, and committed to following through. If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to talk more and see if there’s a good fit for us to work together. Please send a DM or Telegram: @calton_dev

Worth asking one thing before anyone commits: what exactly gets built, and how a split is written down. A partnership with no named deliverable and no terms is the part that usually breaks, not the skills.
🥰Got a Great Idea but Need the Right Technical Partner?🥰
I've always believed that great opportunities often start with a simple conversation, not a job post or a formal meeting. I'm a Senior AI and Full Stack Engineer with 10+ years of experience building SaaS platforms, AI agents, automation systems and web and mobile applications. I'd love to connect with founders, co-founders, CEOs, developers and anyone passionate about building something meaningful. Maybe you have an idea but need help bringing it to life. Maybe you're working on a product and facing technical challenges. Or maybe you're just exploring what's possible with AI and modern technology. I'm open to collaborating with founders and clients who need an experienced engineer, whether for a specific project or a long-term partnership. But not every conversation has to be about business. I genuinely enjoy exchanging ideas, learning from others and making meaningful connections. I'd love to hear about it! 🥰 Please send a DM or Telegram Telegram username: @calton_dev

Engineer-founder pairing works best when the first conversation is about constraints, not ideas: timeline, budget ceiling, and who owns the code after. Asking those three early filters out most mismatches before either side commits.
