👾 The Purple Alien Technique
My inner critic can be brutal. So I gave it a face ->👾. Now when it shows up, I think “oh, there’s that wee purple alien again” and it loses some of its power. 👉 If you gave your anxiety a character or emoji, what would it look like?

My anxiety characterization would be a person in an oversized truck, driving dangerously close behind me even though I am already speeding. Threatening, out of nowhere and out of my control, but can choose not engage despite the hostile presence. 😂
Car Alarm
Entered extremely busy restaurant with noise and faces everywhere and was rushed by racing thoughts,tension, pounding heart, and inability to focus. Started to feel the pull to my brain to start overthinking and wanted to flee immediately. Reminded myself it’s just the “ car alarm” and stayed, had a nice meal with friends. Small win but shows progress in mindset shift 👍🏻
