Accountability and Journal - Day 8 - Nightime
Spent the rest of the day studying and reflecting on moving forward. I made a lot of progress building chartbooks on Sierra, and figuring out how to setup Replayer trading of historical data, as well as analyzing the price action on NQ in depth. That said, I want to simplify my trading workflow so I chose to focus on 4 pillars of process work. Not all of them are equal, as it depends on whatever my current bottlenecks are. The pillars are: 1 - Edge Building --> Studying NQ and really dissecting each trading day. This helps build my analysis and trains me on what is important to look for in terms of reading pure price action. 2 - Live Replayer Trading --> Putting my skills to practice live. This is where I get to see how I fare without any hindsight and train all the psychological and execution aspects of trading, like patience, acceptance, finding good entries and proper trade sizing. 3 - Data Analysis --> Taking the data from my "edge building", I gather the best setups of each day, categorize them and then generate statistics that build my playbook. This also gives me the average MAE/MFE, as well as the market context these trades happen in, and how to enter and size them. 4 - Cognitive Training --> Attention training, working memory (encoding and processing), and reasoning training. These all help me be a better decision maker overall. Currently --> My biggest focuses are on my Edge Building, to regain my analytical edge as well as training my attention, so that I have better control of what I do in each moment. I want 80% of my time to be dedicated towards working on these two, with the majority of it towards "edge building". The rest can be put on maintenance, like learning Sierra Charts and orderflow trading

@Britton Brown I'd really like to learn more about how this is done professionally. What I do is I go over each day, analyze it retroactively through each timeframe, and then dissect the "best trades of the day", as if I took them myself. I write their time, points, and then the cues and reasons to enter, with the different entries afforded in that setup. The trades all tend to fall into a small number of categories, which I then compile to build some statistics overall. It's all incredibly manual and subjective, but it does help me get better overall.

@Britton Brown Thanks for sharing all this it's really helpful for what I am working on with myself currently. I know about the 5 Why's and I'll start using it in my trading. It really is a mental game even before I get to the charts. It can almost feel too easy to be true on some days, that all I have to do is focus on when not to participate and the winning trades will come on their own. This has been my biggest problem in the past with trading and now I am focusing extra on just being patient and learning when to just "sit on my hands". BTW, this community you built, and your support has been making a huge difference already in my life and trading, and I really see myself able to become professional in trading this year.
Accountability and Journal - Day 9
Rough week personally, I left my medication drops in a hot car and they lost their potency so I ended up cycling bipolar the entire week. I only traded two days and lost -3R in total, though I really shouldn't have touched the markets. Today did some replayer live trading from last week and did quite well. I realized that the most important things are knowing where not to trade and then being aggressive trading the levels I think opportunities exist in, but without chasing anything.

Accountability and Journal - Day 9
+4R yesterday (1W/2L/1BE). I didn't have much emotional bandwidth yesterday, even though I didn't tilt or take bad trades. I did have some poor executions on good trade ideas that cost me some losses. I think the losing streak was in my mind, because I closed my winner for 6R, way before reaching even near my target area. Total -6R down on the week. It may seem like I am disappointed from how I write by how this week went, but actually I got a ton of valuable lessons and reflections on my trading issues. Also, I am just happy I showed up and traded 2 weeks in a row already.
Accountability and Journal - Day 8
-6R on the day Full tilt. I made a lot of big mistakes today and I will cover it here: 1/ Listening to a live stream of a trader. Even if they are a legit trader, I don't know their system and I trade an entirely different one from them. Because they were a more senior. I seconded guess a great trade entry and entered the reverse. 2/ Second point I also pulled up NVIDIA which I normally don't do and it threw me off even more. This ties into the first point on not to trade something I don't understand. 3/ I kept trading even though I knew I was in tilt because I had the thought, "I am a good trader", when in reality a good trader would stop trading then in there. I had the chance to stop at -1.5R. 4/ Sized trades incorrectly and risked more per trade than my plan. 5/ I was actually in several green trades that I let go back to BE. I wait for very large moves but I should be accumulating these points throughout the day. I don't have any data to base my trade decisions on, but it could just be better to take the points when they are given for now. I was in one 60 and another 50 point trade that I just let reverse because of volatility. It might make sense to trail the stops to pick up 30-40 points from these trades, if they reverse. To recap, I am glad this day happened now and not later because I can learn and grow from it before it costs me a whole lot more. I believe in myself long term and mistakes are just part of the process. Now back to the process which, which I will post more about later in the day.
