The Burden of Good Taste
An acquired taste is not a flex. It’s a burden, but makes you money. 👇 THE MAJORITY When it comes to taste, most people have ordinary taste. When somebody says "it's an acquired taste", they mean it's not for everybody. In fact, it takes a while to appreciate it. An acquired taste is for those who appreciate nuance and are looking for something special. People who want something better than average. We should all strive for an acquired taste in what we do, and it's not until we do where we really truly become original. We won't break down any walls and re-write rules as beginners. No matter how many weird and strange ways, we may present what we do, it comes down to a taste that evolves your work beyond the ordinary. HOW TO GET IT Once you look at and appreciate the smallest parts of someone's work, despite what the world says, and you form your OWN opinion that's the start of developing good taste. I pride myself with an acquired taste for media and creative media, and struggle to fit in appreciating with what I consider to be the ordinary garbage. Unfortunately, what I like the masses do not. Such as the burden of an acquired taste. It's up to YOU to really be true to yourself. Taste like in food is up to you to evolve. Sure, McDonalds can be yummy, but a person who values something that tastes really good, has a FAR BETTER burger in mind. how it could be better. or what is a better burger. etc. THAT is good taste. THE MOST SUCCESSFUL EXAMPLE This brings me to Song writer: Max Martin. Most people don’t know his name. BUT, they know his songs. He's the songwriter behind Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, and more. He has written or co-written over 25 Billboard #1 songs! This is someone who understands taste, structure, emotion, and psychology at the highest level. Someone who understands what works on the mass level better than almost anyone alive! However, Max Martin has an acquired personal taste for metal music, which I need to speak on.

Great post! I was at a summer fair in Washington state and didn't know who Neal Sidaca was until he started singing. The ABC show Songland a few years back was a great step into the world of writing. And for me writing lyrics for Mt two albums was a lyric first melody second simply bc I don't know how to write music yet lol. Ill take a look at Max's work thanks to you.
🎞️ 2026 YouTube GPS-Style Roadmap
1. 🚀 Get Going (i've been slacking. not much else to say about that) 2. 🗓️ Get Consistent (consistent youtube uploads) 3. 🎥 Get Good (1% better per video) 4. 🪟 Get Clear (using data to remove bad content direction) 5. 💸 Get Goals ( Time Management, Productivity, More Money, Delegation) ~ More : 1. I'm hung up with this youtube format in my head. *well edited, scripted, valuable etc* but, that's holding me back. I'm going to start with making "off-the-cuff" passionate videos. they may be ramble-y but they will have great insight and information. you'll also get to know me more. 2. Finding my flow. when can i just sit down and make a video "real quick"? is the question i need to answer for this. If it's not easy, it's a no go. If it's not making me happy, i can't do it forever. 3. I am kinda already starting this, but list out the categories to make each video better, and incrementally improve. E.G. vid 1- thumbnail, vid 2 - Title creation, vid 3, hook, etc. 4. By now i should have a good set of videos that i can analyze what people like and watch or don't watch. and move forward with hard statistical data on my content. new content strategy to be made. 5. This is all about the business of youtube. I'm putting it last because i hate doing things twice. If i'm going to hire an editor, it better be on a video that i know statistically is going to bring in more clients or be an incredible value to people. At this point it's all lead by minimalism. What is the single most important things, and stop doing the time wasters. 6. 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦→ 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘦. (𝘈𝘭𝘪 𝘈𝘣𝘥𝘢𝘭 + 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘵 𝘋'𝘈𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢 + 𝘔𝘳. 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 + 𝘈𝘭𝘦𝘹 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘰𝘻𝘪)

@Jeffrey Buoncristiano I built my 2031 biz/marketing plan last quarter so your post gave me a great idea to see it from a 'Guru' perspective - don't like the term Guru b/c it doesn't give a 100% positive vibe but we all know who the Guru's are :)
Brand vs Content
Most people thing that the thing that is wrong with their brand is something huge. but likely it's just the content strategy. Your brand is the house, Your content is the furniture You can change your furniture. It can be ugly, it can be nice. My new video talks about how to approach on this.

Offers are client getting so just get to the point 🙂 Confused clients don't buy and the word 'Irresistible' is overused in the online world.
