Pentatonic Picking Challenge!
This weeks challenge is all about adding some more range to the standard pentatonic shapes. This lick will work on your fretboard visualization, alternate picking AND position shifts. It also sounds pretty cool and you'll be sure to impress your neighbours just by the fretting hand movement alone😁 Beside the lick itself, you also have 2 exercises that will help you incorporate that extra "Eric Johnson" note at the top. Let's go!

@Jarda Barta Nice!! That guitar is sweet!! What is it?
Check out this Yngwie style picking run
https://youtu.be/KPWurP5EiMw If you like this kind of picking, you should check out my course "Mastering the Single String Groups of Four Sequence". It’s available here on Skool: 👉 https://www.skool.com/the-practice-room/classroom/b03cb024?md=37ba40dee31e498c853262c3618255ed The course takes you through a focused practice routine that will have you playing this sequence, and others, fast and clean across the entire fretboard in all the minor scales: natural, melodic, and harmonic. More is more!

"Mastering the Single String Groups of Four Sequence" helped me out an incredible amount!! I needed to dial my skills working across the neck and seeing the scales in that direction on one string. I still practice leaping fours almost everyday. I highly recommend this course it was a game changer to be able to play runs like this!!
Your opinion is needed!
Hey! I'm trying out a new waaaay quicker method of recording videos, just want to check that the quality is ok for you before going forward. This is 1080p but 60 fps so a bit smoother, 4k would be good but most people watch on their phones anyway so the difference would be minimal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyeertD9K28

I do most of this on my laptop and would never notice the difference. Love the content though!
Thinking About Launching a Coaching Community — Interested?
Hey everyone! It’s been awesome to see this community grow — almost 400 of you already in less than a week! Over the past few days, I’ve had quite a few questions from people asking about a “mid-tier” option — something between the free content and my $199/month Guitar Personal Training Program. A way to: - Get feedback on your playing - Follow structured training - And have a direct line to me for support and clarity …without going all-in on 1-on-1 coaching. So here’s what I’m thinking: Practice Room Pro A new paid community tier — built for serious players who want to level up faster, but don’t need daily WhatsApp coaching. Inside Practice Room Pro, you'd get: - Access to all my guitar courses (and new ones as I release them) - A private group where you can submit videos and questions to get personal feedback from me - Bonus lessons, walkthroughs, and behind-the-scenes tips I don’t share publicly - Early access to new material and ideas I’m working on Everything would run right here on Skool. One login. One community. One clear path to progress. I’d love to hear from you: - Would this be something you'd be interested in? - What would make it valuable for you? - If I open it, would you want to be part of the founding group? No pressure — just exploring the idea based on the questions I’ve been getting. Drop a comment below if you’re interested or want to know more. Just to be clear — this isn’t a replacement for the free community. It’s simply a complement for those who want more personal help and direct feedback. I’ll still be just as active here as always 😊

I’ve been using a monthly membership on your Teachable site but would change if it’s the same and it’s better for you.
What technique has given you the most trouble?
I haven’t really hit a brick wall with any particular technique — but alternate picking has definitely taken the most time to develop, and still takes the most upkeep. It’s one of those things that slips if you don’t stay on top of it. Curious how it’s been for you. What technique has taken the most work on your end? And did anything finally help it click? Would be great to hear what’s worked (or hasn’t) for others here.

It doesn’t matter what I’m working on, the hardest thing for me is to not let my mind wander while trying to concentrate. I try to use meditative skills to not let it go too far. Just takes a spit second to make a mistake and have to start the exercise over.
