Advices to pass your exam ! (PMP Certified)
Hi all, I passed the exam and wanted to share some insights that might help you as well: - Don’t rush. The exam isn’t difficult, but it is long. Train yourself to sit for 4 hours. It’s mostly about time management. You will already have the knowledge before the exam thanks to your preparation. - Andrew’s Udemy course is more than enough. You don’t need to look for additional resources. Realistically, Andrew’s course covers about 90% of what you need. You’ll naturally pick up the remaining 10% through exercises and mock exams. - Andrew’s simulator is excellent, especially for developing the right mindset. I also recommend purchasing PMI Study Hall: it helps you get familiar with the question style and reinforces the remaining exam concepts. I personally think both simulators are necessary. - Mindset matters a lot. Train yourself to think the way PMI expects you to think. - Try to study every day. Finish all the course material at least 3 weeks before your exam date. Use the last 3 weeks for mock exams and reviewing weak areas. The whole process took me about 2 months. - I didn’t fully read the PMBOK. It’s useful for checking definitions, but don’t get lost in the huge amount of content. Remember: Andrew’s course is already very comprehensive. - Don’t use too many instructors for mock exams. Choose one or two and stick to them. Otherwise, you’ll end up confused by different wording styles. - Don’t take the exam without completing all mock exams from Andrew’s simulator and PMI Study Hall. A score above 70% is a good sign. But always aim for perfection, don’t settle for less. You’re preparing to become a highly qualified project manager. Good luck, everyone!

@Pooja Roy Chaudhury Hi ! I would say yes it works most of the times because the mindset after all comes from common sense and best practices. Don't worry! On study hall also sometimes I got less than 60% (even lesser). That’s why I said that study hall provides you with what Andrew’s simulator doesn’t. For me the difference in score is related to 2 main reasons: 1- I think that the questions on study hall were provided by many contributors throughout different years, mindset changes from one person to to another even though on study hall they state the source of the justification 2- This brings me to the second point: If you pay attention to justifications, some questions come from the old PMBOK 6th edition, probably Andrew didn’t cover enough from that edition or other books. PMI has many publications, not only the PMBOK, it’s practically impossible that Andrew or other person covers everything in every book.. My final opinion: keep doing both Andrews simulator and study hall. When you get a low score on study hall, see it as an opportunity to learn something new from those questions. Whenever you get a wrong answer, go back and read the explanation and learn it.. and so on and so forth.. this builds your knowledge. Try to cover everything before at least one week from the exam. The last week, when you finish learning those new questions, try to have more than 70% on the full study hall mock exam. I wish all the best, keep focusing. If you reached this step in your career it means that you had to face and pass harder challenges in the past! You can do it, don’t panic! Good luck 😉
@Pooja Roy Chaudhury use your common sense.Project management is not maths, it’s not a general truth. When they provide answers, Instructors are trying to be the closest possible to something that could work in the question scenario. Some questions don’t have a correct answer, they just have a possible solution, you need to choose the most possible solution. Based on my experience, it Andrew’s mindset worked for me during the exam. Don’t forget, SH is not the exam. Yes it comes from PMI, but many instructors contribute to the questions bank. Many instructors = a big deviation risk from the average answer type. Try to watch Andrews mindset on youtube, it’s a more complete video than the udemy one
