New to the group
Hi everyone! I've only recently joined this group and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Robbi and I've been filming wrestling as a side hustle under Rock Solid Media since 2019. I've been reading up on Adam's courses and have learned a few things from him, with some courses having re-enforced what I already do when filming. I'd love to get to know you all, hopefully get some hits and pointers and you never know, get to work with some of you in the future also.

Camera Placement
Im interested in how everyone picks where to put hard cam when shooting. I’ve attached an image from The Garage in Glasgow, probably the venue I’ve shot at the most. There aren’t many options for it here, and the obvious place to put hard cam has its pros and cons. What’s the first thing you look for at a venue you’re working at?

In locating the hard cam I always look for a spot that’s square on to the ring and ideally with the crowd behind it, but if that’s not possible then with crowd somewhere in shot, like in front of it or off to the side. Depending on how good the hardcam works out depends on how much I’d use it vs a ringside camera. Sometimes it can be very hard to get the right height, in our gym shows we have a platform that’s pretty much the only place you can set up a camera but it’s essentially a roof cam… other places can be too low at times, I don’t have people manning the hard cam usually it’s locked off.. it’s also mostly a phone hence harder to man or use in any meaningful way… but yeah.. that’s me anyway. I prefer crowd in shot rather than entrance way in shot anyway..

@Adam Carrel we were using an ATEM mini pro iso for this one, with companion and also OBS for supers and stuff, the set up was streamed direct from the ATEM and main pc used for onscreen content and the 3 camers were 2 iphones a 17 & regrettably a 12. And an ipad in the end after technical problems with a sony camera we were set to use. Sound running from mixer direct to mic input on the ATEM and multi screen running from an additional pc via usb as the mini only has 1 hdmi out and i had to use program for the tv on set. So a bit clunky but an ok first shoot

Essentials for rig day
Lucky enough not to need to bring too much kit to WWE jobs. Very different to when I do independent shows. These are some of the essentials though:
