How many times have we seen ads and promotions selling you something and telling you they will donate something on your behalf to a charity? How many times have you offered to do this for your work? This does nothing to sell you and your message. Nothing. The buyer gets no tax credit for your donation and has no way of knowing how much you gavev or even if you gave to a charity. You don’t need to promote your work by profiting the the pain and needs of others. If you wish to make a donation and tell the world you did so, that is fine. But to get people to pay for helping someone else is disingenuous and more it doesn’t sell you and it doesn’t really help your client any more than if you didn’t promote this way. I know this may be controversial but think about it. If you really want to promote a charity, give people a directly link to that charity and let them choose if and how much to give to it. Sell the value of your work and it should be enough to get people to pay to hear you. My two cents
