Some of us were taught that strong women handle everything themselves. You do not ask for help. You do not complain. You do not sit down while there is work to do. Because if you cannot carry it all, maybe you are not strong enough. And if you rest, delegate, or let someone else take over, maybe people will think you are lazy. I did not realize how deeply I had carried that belief into my business. If I did not do the task myself, it did not feel as valuable. If I handed something off, it felt like I was cutting corners. If I was not exhausted, part of me wondered whether I had really worked hard enough. That is a hard way to build anything. 🧠 I am learning that doing everything myself is not proof that I care more. It is not proof that I am more capable. And burnout is not a badge of honor. Delegating does not make the work less meaningful. Asking for support does not make me weak. Resting does not make me lazy. It means I am building a business that does not require me to abandon myself to keep it running. 🌱 The old belief was: A strong woman carries everything. The belief I am practicing now is: CEOs don’t do all the things. This is not just a business shift for me. It is an unlearning. I was going through my week the other day and caught myself doing something I do way too often. I was sitting there formatting a document that honestly, AI could've handled. Not because I had to. Just because it was already open and it felt faster to finish it than to hand it off. Sound familiar? Here's the thing I keep coming back to. Not everything that lands on your plate is actually meant for you. Some of it needs your eye, your voice, your judgment. And a lot of it is just... there. Sitting on your plate because nobody ever asked whether it belonged there in the first place. So when you take your next break, CEO, try this.... Look at whatever's next on your to-do list and just ask yourself one honest question: would this turn out differently if someone else did it instead of me? If the answer's no, that's worth sitting with. Not to fix it today, not to feel behind about it. Just to notice it and think about an AI tool you already have that could do the task independently or with your assistance. I'd love to hear what came up for you.
