🏆 Win Wednesday: Ear Training Hack 🎧
I found an online ear-training game called Key Seeker 64 that helps you find the key of a song. Find it here: https://sonofield.com/apps/key-seeker Here's a quick video demo — your Win Wednesday mission is just: try it once (even for 2 minutes). Find it in the ʻUkulele Toolkit here. #Ear Training - Key Seeker 64 📊 Poll: What are you doing with it?

Just had a watch of your videos in Ear Training and I think this is a great app and I love how it has different genres of music, and your method seems to be the exact same method I use. I wonder if listening, asking yourself "major or minor", then humming, then playing it on the instrument to match notes is the common way for us folks without "absolute pitch". I love that you show your chain of thought step by step when you use it. I can see it being a really valuable tool to use together with a student. In Punk#1 at 10:32 I thought it was B major since it started with the tonic triad of B. The most prominent note we can hear (F#), which you played down on top of the recording, my ears placed it as the 5th degree of the scale but it was actually the 1st (tonic) which can also work, just not my gut instinct, and you were correct according to the app. Sometimes when you entered an answer and it didn't agree I can see exactly why you picked that answer and I think just occasionally a clip may not give enough context and could therefore have more than one answer. So that is my only nitpick -- I would say that if the app doesn't agree with your answer, don't worry too much if your answer is in a related key. It's still a really useful training tool!

James R is right it's addictive!! I've been playing it for an hour... I can get most of them first or second try but Bossa Nova #1 got no idea! I have a lot to learn...
Lesson progress - natural minor scales
Kāʻili taught me a new picking technique and some natural minor scales. I always feel like I'm amazing at ukulele but whenever I watch a video of myself all I see is a wannabe. 😅 I've actually practised but I'll keep practising. Feel free to give comment/ critique.

I haven't, and I sometimes call them their size and model names but keep misremembering them myself and no one ever knows which one I mean anyway. Names would probably help...
