Delete Object from a Managed Solution
Hi All, Im hoping someone can help please but its a bit of a messy situation I have inherited a system where there are some Solutions installed within the live Environment where we no longer have access to the Dev Environment it came from but we do have a copy of the Live Environment but the Solution(s) are obviously Managed in there too. I need to make modifications to several Flows so I thought I could just create a copy of the Flow in our new copy of Live, make the changes required and re-import in a new Solution. However, I'm unable to delete the initial version as it will now be redundant but the 'Remove' option is greyed out because its within a Managed Solution. Does anyone know if there is a way to delete an object from a Managed Solution?

Hi Adam, you can't directly delete an object from a managed solution in a LIVE environment. I have never faced such a situation, but I think this approach could work. 1. Disable the flow/s in the LIVE environment. 1. Create a solution in the copy of the LIVE environment, where you modify the flow/s in an unmanaged solution. 1. Export the solution from the copy of the LIVE environment and import it into the LIVE environment as a managed solution.
Update the record after creation
What approach do you use - prefer when creating a new record in a Model-driven/Canvas app if you want to populate the primary column name without the user entering it?

I have never created a plugin, mainly because I am not a pro developer. However I can imagine using it in a larger project. At the beginning, I initially used Power Automate as the first option. However as Rob mentioned the disadvantage I see is that when a user returns from the form they see an empty field because the flow has not yet started which is not a good user experience. Since I have been working with Power Platform for only three years I remember that in the beginning there was a push to replace everything with Power Automate flows instead of classic workflows. However as we see now the reality is that classic workflows are still in use and classic workflow is perfect for this. If the solution involves a model-driven app and custom JavaScript is used on the form, I can see that as an option as well. However, unlike synchronous/asynchronous flows, this does not solve the issue of data import. For really simple scenarios, a business rule could also be used.
custom svg icons in Model-driven app
I have a solution with web resources (see attached) stored as SVG files (okres.svg and skupina-black.svg). These icons are used in a Model-Driven app for custom tables. For many months, these icons were displayed correctly, but a few days ago, the icon okres.svg stopped displaying. When I edit the Model-Driven app in the navigation section (left side), I can see the icon, but when the app is loaded, the icon does not display. I have tried clearing the cache, reuploading the icon to the web resources, and publishing all customizations, but without success. The issue is the same across three different environments. As I mentioned before, it was working for many months, so I suspect there might have been a recent change in the requirements for SVG icons. However, I cannot figure out what might be causing the issue. I would greatly appreciate any hints or tips regarding custom SVG icons or advice on how to use SVG icons in Model-Driven apps these days.

@Rob Rising Thank you for feedback. There is probably option to use old designer and instead of new one (only SVG is accepted) PNG files can be loaded, but I didn't try it because SVG are recommended over PNG as it mentioned here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/developer/model-driven-apps/image-web-resources#working-with-scalable-vector-graphics-svg I did some researcher Change model-driven app custom table icons in Power Apps - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn and after manually editing the "okres.svg" icon and removing the following part: <defs><style>.cls-1{fill:#000;stroke-width:0px;}</style></defs> the icon is now displaying as before. (see test.svg) What is strange to me is that the article describing the requirements for icons is older than the icon itself. Requirements such as hardcoded fill values, inline styles, specific sizes, etc. were already present in the icon. However, it was only last week that the icon stopped displaying.

@Rob Rising No error in browser console and also is possible to inspect element on the page and see the SVG is there, but not displaying, but as I wrote before removing style with fill solved the issue.
