Hey everyone! 👋 For the next cycle of the Nimiq Mini Apps Competition, I wanted to share the faucet behind nim.re Explorer & Staking Pool. Go checkout the ➡️ Nano Faucet ⬅️. The idea is to make it easier for developers to experiment with Nimiq and build apps without having to worry about getting some NIM first. Since you need to send at least 1 Luna to create a transaction on the Nimiq blockchain, having access to some free NIM could open up new possibilities for developers. Plus, your users wouldn't need to send some NIM first for you to write to the blockchain. This could be especially interesting for ideas like: - An On-Chain Guestbook - Decentralized Chat - On-Chain Voting - Blockchain Notepad - On-Chain Achievements, triggered by your app, not the user - Decentralized Social Feed - On-Chain Game State, again, written by your app, not the user ... and other ideas using the Nimiq blockchain as some kind of data storage. I think this could open up some new possibilities and inspire different kinds of Mini Apps, especially ones built around small transactions and creative use cases. Started building for Nimiq’s Cycle II Miniapps Competition and here’s what I’ve done so far. ✅Purchased Game assets that’ll be my prefabs ✅Got my player character ✅Rigged the Character ✅Tested animations in the Rigged character So far everything has been going fine and smooth. Unto the next!
