Hi, just wondering what you guys are using for your video editors. I am trying to download and use DaVinci Resolve 18 because my graphics card is older...just finished installing new driver for it and trying to install the video editor. Why not use capcut? They legally own your videos...so I prefer not to use it. Any other free editors beside imovie, and above mentioned?

I know if people who are using Descript and Riverside and like them. If you are doing interviews with people remotely Riverside seems to do that well as you are not trying to record a Zoom call etc? I'm looking into them. It seems the more automatic the editing is, the less choices you can end up with? Maybe? I myself don't want AI deciding what to cut out? I use the free DaVinci but there is bit of a learning curve for sure! I don't know if the others would be faster in terms of editing maybe... DaVinci has really pro level colour correction that is easy to use once you know it, if that matters to you. You may need a bit of a good computer to run DaVinci? Not too much I've found if you are doing basic edits and not special FX etc. DaVinci has the ability to mix audio for with it's own built in plug ins. I use the free version and because I'm not editing Movies or Mr Beast videos : ). I found that I did not need the top computer for the free version. The paid version has more special effects etc, not needed for YouTube or educational videos in my opinion. Hope this info helps!

@Mimi Negron 😁
Is anyone else getting a barrage of hate?
I'm so discouraged. I get 9 hateful comments out of every 10 each day, it's become exhausting. Here I am, creating content to help people, spending my time for free, spending my own money, not making a penny and people are just so utterly mean and nasty. I get called names on a regular basis and some things that I can't even say aloud. Is it just me? I know to block and hide user from channel and all of that but when you look at your comments and truly, I just counted, every single comment between today and yesterday except 1 was over-the-top hateful ---it really makes me feel like giving up.

I'm so sorry to hear you are getting this garbage from others, I echo what others have said, like you are getting known so that indicates progress, also "consider the source" - trolls in their basement... if you'd never listen to them or take them seriously in a coffee shop line, maybe the same could apply here? Also something that sometimes people do not know is that YouTube measures engagement, not the approval or disapproval, so more comments equals YouTube boosts, as YT thinks correctly that people are staying longer on your channel. So these weirdos are in a sense helping, although I wouldn't provoke them by " thanking them" šŸ˜€ I looked at your channel and it is great! Great content, well edited, great colour and flow and good sound. I think there will be a lot of people who will subscribe and really get something from your channel!
Proposed packaging your thoughts appreciated
I've been quiet on the online forums lately because I've been consumed with researching themes like mine. I've been looking very closely at successful videos of people teaching history. My research showed there were successful channels across the board. Some people were doing great with 8-to-12-minute videos, there were a lot in the 20 to 30 minutes range, and one very successful channel where the videos ranged anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours. (Sorry dude I zone out at around an hour.) I've written the scripts and was just about to start pumping out videos when I had this ah-huh moment, how long to make videos. Breaking themes into smaller shorter "two packs" that are a one - two punch. Here's my outline: ===== Episode "the history of strange science" teases to follow up episode: Voltaire, the Patron Saint of Cynics ===== Episode ā€œPower, Responsibility, and Why the Internet Broke Itā€ teases to follow up episode: Mark Twain, The Great American Cynic ===== Episode "Edison Lies: Debunking the myths" teases to follow up episode: The Real Bio of Thomas Edison ===== Episode "Tesla Lies: Debunking the myths" teases to follow up episode: The Real Bio of Nikola Tesla

Yes to what @Mimi Negron said, I have seen people do long videos but split them up into smaller segments but put them all into a playlist where after people watching the first one it just goes to the next etc. Actually kind of like @Alexa Saarenoja is doing with her 30 day playlist? I really like your titles/subject matter!

Yes this sounds great, let's help each other!
Hello everyone, just joined - choosing my channel name
Hi, just for background this is what I do: I'm a long term audio and video professional - I teach pod-casters how to choose affordable mics and gear and how to record themselves at a professional level affordably - later I may want to add speaking to camera and filming one’s self confidently: Here are three names I’m considering for my YouTube channel, could you all here let me know what you think, which fits better in your mind and why if you could please? Thanks! 1. Gear and Clear or Gear and Clear Creative (as there is a Gear&Clear that might cause confusion?) 2. Confident Podcast Sound (or Confident Podcast Recording) 1. (or as some do just their name). Mike Malone or Mike Malone Creative (the last one is the most open ended however I’m concerned about security releasing my name on social media? Please give any feedback you want thank you!

@Lexus Persson Thank you Lexus, really it was whether to use my name or not, but I came up with a solution and as Alexa S suggested and got the name nailed down on Insta, YouTube, TikTok, and website: I'm going with this name (sub text below name..) CreatorTech with Mike Clear Tech. Confident Creators.

Hey everyone, Thank you for all your thoughts it really helps! I'm going to go with a brand and just my first name for now. (One of my family members is nervous about using the full name) so for now I'll use this name with the tag line below: CreatorTech with Mike Clear Tech. Confident Creators. I've got the name lined up in Insta, YouTube, TikTok, and a website domain. I feel like I am finally starting!
