Class/Profession swap
If your character could swap classes for one session, what would they pick — and how would that go horribly wrong?

@Jason Lee I.....can't say I've ever had to fight a whale in an RPG before....

@Jason Lee You prevailed to fight another day!
Waking up
Your character wakes up in a completely different campaign setting — same stats, same gear. Where are they, and what’s the first thing they do?

@Jason Lee Awesome! And I still haven't played Darksun. Probably because I grew up in Europe, it didn't make as much of a splash there..
Session prep
For Rage Across New York, a Werewolf: the Apocalypse Chronicle, using Foundry VTT. Do you play online? What Virtual Tabletop do you use?

@Ryan Childs Yeah, I feel Delta Force didn't really stick to that advice 🤣
Adventures: Do you prefer writing your own or running adventures/stories from sourcebooks
As the question asks! Feel free to include some of your favourite campaigns! I love myself basically anything written by Free League, Arc Dream's Delta Green cases are also amazingly well written!

@Jason Lee When I started out as a GM (let's face it, I was 12), I ran the module exactly as written, and my autistic mind got very disturbed if the players acted in ways they "weren't supposed to" (i.e. in some way the writers had not expected). Over the years, of course, I've realized that no writer can predict all player behaviours or reactions, and to give players agency, I can't be *that* stuck to the script, so now I always alter the modules to fit the player group to some extent. It's probably something all GMs do?

@Ryan Childs Yeah, that's my preference, too. I do feel stressed when I have to write my own material from scratch or from a one-paragraph plot-hook. I do better with it now than I did when I had less experience, but it's still outside my comfort zone. My favourite mode is when I can take a pre-written sourcebook and just line up the plot twists in an order I feel works for the present group and just lean back like an orchestra director an introduce them at the perfect moment for maximum effect. I love that zone.
What’s one moment when a player’s failure made the story unforgettable?
“Play to lose” isn’t about sabotage — it’s about embracing the drama of failure. Tell us about a time a botched roll, poor decision, or character flaw led to something epic, hilarious, or heartbreaking. Bonus points if the failure made another player shine. Let’s celebrate the moments that didn’t lead to character triumph — but made the game better.
