@Stephen Trotter Also remember, it all starts with the first sale. I started by selling whatever I could find. We landed in Model trains and have been there for 14 years!Just start listing items! I am very type A! I don’t like forever listings, I need change and viable progress. 90% of my sales are auction listings and 10 percent are fixed price listings. I believe there are 3 types of sellers, Value- Max price for every item Volume- Value come from the Volume Hybrid- a comfortable mix of the 2 above Pick what works for you and go for it! If you have piles of inventory, think about creating lots of similar items you call sell together to thin the mass. Come on, you’ve got this! Now start selling!

@Valerie Small-richards that will take some careful packaging. Think about how you can ensure that every item gets to the buyer safely. For very fragile items, I like to over pack them. I will wrap the item in bubble wrap and put it into a box. I will then take that box and put it in a larger box and pack it with packing paper all around it to double cushion the item. I treat our delicate items like they will be dropped down a staircase and that seem to keep the safe in most situations.

@Valerie Small-richards there are several things to consider. Do you want to be a value seller or a volume seller? Do you have a niche? Do you know how to check sold listings to have an idea of where to price your items? Do you know how to safely package and ship the items you sell? The more prepared you are for your first sale, the smoother it will be.

@Stephen Trotter It really is committing to it. . It doesn’t have to be a hundred items a week. Start with 5 and get comfortable with that. Then moving to 10 won’t be so overwhelming. You don’t have to go from zero to light speed. Ease into it and let your schedule get used to the extra workload.
