Huge Birdhouse
I haven't posted in a while we have been busy. We just finished a Wonka Birdhouse and I'm happy to say it has it's first guest! It's cut on the Onefinity CNC, we mundified the file from Woodsmith. This is a fun project!!!!

It's a fun project but, not a money maker. That was our goal. The CNC has allowed my daughter and me to take on projects that we wouldn't be able to do. Thanks for the kind words much appreciated! https://www.facebook.com/share/v/12LcQB9efR7/

@Rob Ernst Hi Rob, Thank you! They are 8 inches wide and 12 inches tall.
Golden Girl rougher
Tried the golden girl rougher tonight. It was awesome!!! I ran it very conservative because of issues Ive had with other bits with my machine. I definitely think I could have ran it harder

@Slim Mab Is this bit good for profiling about 1 inch thick material? Obviously, not a one pass. I'm struggling with chatter marks, using a 1/4 DC bit taking 1/8 pass, and doing a final pass of .02 offset. Both climb and conventional did the same. New bit too. Did this in pine and cherry. Thoughts? Oh, I even did a spiral cut. spindle rpms at 15-18K and 100 imp. Appreciate your insight

@Slim Mab Thanks for the great advice—really helpful! I’m heading into the shop this weekend to give it a try. Do you recommend using a downcut or upcut bit for this project? I'm not concerned about tear out on the top, I will round over the edge. Leaning towards an upcut bit.
Getting ready for Christmas
My daughter just cut this out and painted it. She is still learning but, how cool is this?

We partnered on this project for her daughter, Kennie and niece. The painting was very time consuming but worth the effort. These are covers for crayon boxes. The file is a Mike Taylor creation from Vectric. I make some changes mainly enlarging it to 12 by 8.

I love working with my daughter, she is a talented painter and creative. Enjoy the time, it goes by too fast. I'm 63 so I enjoy every minute.

@Josh Kitchen Hi Josh, I appreciate this. I have received many request to make these but, the painting time is a killer. The cut is quick and not a big deal because I can be doing something while it's cutting. If I could paint one in under an hour then I would do it. I made several for family, 10 so far. May daughter has taken over the painting than goodness.
