🧩 You Don’t Become What You Practice...
We’ve all heard it said — you become what you practice. It sounds right. It feels true. But it’s not entirely accurate..... You don’t become what you practice. ......You simply identify with the habit — and then inherit its consequences. That’s the trap..... Habits are brilliant and dangerous at the same time — because once they’ve been rehearsed long enough, they hide in plain sight. They start running the show under the illusion that you are in control. You think you’re choosing. But often… you’re just playing out code. And that’s the good news. Because code can be rewritten. The trick is: it’s so insidious, you rarely notice it’s there. It feels natural. That’s how hypnosis works — not the stage kind, but the quiet one we live inside every day. So here’s a thought experiment: Don’t try to “break” your habits. Instead, notice the exact moment you justify them. The words, tone, emotion, or story you tell yourself right before you repeat them. That moment is the entry point — the crack in the code. If you can stay awake right there… the whole pattern begins to unravel. Invitation for Deep Conversation: Where in your life do you sense there’s a pattern that feels “natural” — but may just be a well-practiced trance?

We have the same amount of time each day, if we decide to stop doing something. that time doesn't disappear, but we fill it with something else. Focus on and work towards what is filling the space and the old will fade away. This has worked for me and my clients but we have to understand the point of friction and what is happening there for the new habit to fully take hold.

@Anita Kozlowski Yes, but does that mean you would be submitting your subconscious to the authority of another person?
