To Clarify
If you’ve ever: • Googled a behavior at 2:17am • Cried in a school parking lot • Said “we don’t do that” in public while absolutely doing that • Hidden in the bathroom for 4 minutes of silence • Thought “Is it just me?” …it’s not just you. Welcome home. This is not the highlight reel. This is not the Pinterest version. This is not the “smile for the IEP meeting” version. This is: Real meltdowns. Real wins. Real exhaustion. Real joy. Real questions we’re sometimes afraid to ask out loud. And yes — we laugh here too. Because if we don’t laugh, we might cry. And honestly? We do both. Drop below 👇 1️⃣ How old is your child? 2️⃣ What’s one thing only an autism mom would understand? 3️⃣ Coffee, energy drinks, or pure adrenaline? I’ll go first: Mom of 3. Survivor of sensory overload. Powered by caffeine and Jesus. ☕🔥 You’re safe here. You’re seen here. And you absolutely don’t have to filter yourself. You’re seen here and you absolutely don’t have to filter yourself. — Michele Ussery

Just Listen
I just want to give hope to my fellow special needs parents. My son with autism was diagnosed as non verbal at age 2 and did not speak a coherent word until age 4 when his first sentence was "May I please be excused from the table" Fast forward to age 15 and I have to google most of what he says because he has a better vocabulary than I do. He sat next to me just the other day wanted to "discuss my political affiliations and my personal definition of each party and how it correlates to the true definition of each party" Listen, your child is not their diagnosis, they are completely individual and they will show you who they are and what they can overcome. Your keep believing, hoping and pushing every therapy until you find the one that is the best fit. My non-verbal son is funny, quick witted and so highly intelligent. He chooses when to speak and when to be quiet.. that is a mark of high intelligence not a delay. Your child will find a way to speak to you.. just always be listening. #autismawareness #autismo #nonverbalautism

Welcome to the Family
Hey there! Tell me about you? Welcome to this completely unfiltered parenting experience. We listen we don't judge but we may crack jokes because if you can laugh about it you can survive it. Introduce yourself and tell me what's your dream vacation. The coffee is always hot here and the love is real. Welcome!
