Featured Book: โ€œTransformation: A Way Of Creating Oneโ€™s Life Anewโ€
Hi Krista and hi everyone! This is Michael Teferi here! This debut poetry book of mine is all about inspiration, self-help/personal growth, and spirituality. In fact, itโ€™s all about inspiring readers readily, realizing their dreams boldly, and acting collectively towards a strong sense of belonging. Thereโ€™s 76 pages of poetry written within, and it encapsulates the extent to which a college student and adult over 21 years of age can transform himself or herself into the best version of oneself through the art of reading and learning about poetry, being on my new podcast talking as a guest on the Riverside.FM Studio app, Michael Teferiโ€™s Studio about life, Positive Psychology, Poetry, music, movies, reflections, family, Leadership, and anything else of interest, plus connecting and networking with me through my Substack live conversations at https://romanticsinger24.substack.com, and being on my Author Website at https://michaelteferi.author-pages.com, which showcases who I am, my three different poetry books as a trilogy, plus my fourth poetry book that Iโ€™m writing about thatโ€™s happening as we speak, and my Contact Page, whoch offers my email address as [email protected], free TextNow phone number as 1-571-500-8485, and where I reside here in Manassas, VA.
Friday Sharing is Caring
Itโ€™s time to put yourself out there. Share whatever youโ€™re working on or proud of right now. This community is full of creators, authors, and entrepreneurs, and sometimes the best thing we can do is help each other get a little more visibility. ๐Ÿ’ก IDEAS ON WHAT YOU COULD SHARE: โ€ข Yourself and what you do โ€ข Your Skool community โ€ข A book you're writing or recently published โ€ข A project you're building โ€ข A shoutout to another member โ€ข A video, post, or resource โ€ข Affiliate links (yes, those are allowed) The goal is simple: help our members get seen. Just one request so this stays valuable for everyone. ๐Ÿ‘‰ 1 RULE: If you share something, please also leave a thoughtful or helpful comment on someone elseโ€™s post. Support goes both ways, and when we all participate, the whole community benefits. Now letโ€™s see what everyone is building ๐Ÿ‘‡

Book Formatting Tools: Atticus vs Affinity
Atticus vs. Affinity: Which Book Formatting Tool Should You Use? One question that comes up a lot with self-publishing is: What tool should I use to format my book? Two options worth looking at are Atticus and Affinity, and they both have their place depending on the type of book youโ€™re creating. Atticus is a one-time investment, but itโ€™s very beginner-friendly. If youโ€™re creating a text-heavy book like a nonfiction book, workbook, journal with written sections, or even a novel, Atticus is probably going to feel much easier to use. Hereโ€™s where Atticus really shines: - Beginner-friendly with a low learning curve - Great for text-heavy books - Helpful for nonfiction, workbooks, journals, and novels - Pretty self-explanatory once you get inside the tool - Lets you create both print and ebook files - Allows you to include full-page images when needed - Saves time if you donโ€™t want to design every page from scratch Affinity, on the other hand, is better if you want a more custom, design-heavy book. Think: highly visual workbooks, planners, full-color interiors, activity books, coffee table-style books, or books where you want more control over the layout. Hereโ€™s where Affinity stands out: - Free to use - Better for custom, design-oriented books - Gives you more control over page layouts - Helpful for books with lots of images, graphics, or visual elements - Better for full-color interiors or highly styled pages - More flexible if you want every page to look different - Great option if youโ€™re willing to learn a more advanced design tool But hereโ€™s the tradeoff: Affinity has a steeper learning curve. It gives you more design freedom, but that also means youโ€™ll need to understand more about layouts, margins, bleeds, image placement, exports, and print setup. So my simple recommendation is this: If you want easy, fast, beginner-friendly formatting, go with Atticus. If you want custom design control and youโ€™re willing to learn the tool, try Affinity.

@Krista Brea Hi Krista and hi everybody! This is Michael Teferi here. I previously tried working with Atticus, yet it didnโ€™t work out for me, unfortunately. Itโ€™s because I cannot pay to publish my poetry books, since I have been living in poverty and on disability for many years now. The good thing is that I connected with and contacted a bunch of Literary Agents and Senior Agents last week who are in the Poetry space, as I sent each of them a query and/or proposal regarding my debut poetry book and two other poetry books as a trilogy, as well. They are each based on inspiration, self-help/personal growth, and spirituality. I learned that it can take 6-8 weeks to receive a response back from them, so I am being patient and persistent as a whole. Looking forward to hopefully hear back from you, Krista!

@Krista Brea Much appreciated, Krista! Ok understood. I certainly hope so too for sure. I feel like itโ€™s all a matter of time and life experience. Thereโ€™s a strong element of surprise, sacrifice, growth, and potentiality mixed in for me, and of course for inspired readers of my poetry and poetry books. Itโ€™s a trilogy so far, yet I have more in development as my fourth poetry book is in process as we speak.
Self-publishing my poetry books
Hi everyone! How is everyone doing? Hope all is well with everybody here! My name is Michael Teferi, I am a BIPOC Poet, Writer, Positive Psychology Coach, and a Debut Poetry Book Author. I am looking to self-publish my poetry books and use Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) to connect with inspired readers. I am Al, about inspiring readers readily, realizing their dreams boldly, and acting collectively towards a strong sense of belonging. My first poetry book is called โ€œTransformation: Way of creating oneโ€™s life anewโ€, and my second poetry book is called โ€œConnection: Enjoying and appreciating life fullyโ€. My third in the trilogy as my poetry book will eventually be called โ€œPhenomenal: Being who one is born to beโ€, and this is in process as we speak, so I have 25 poems thus far and I will complete my third poetry book next month in April 2026. My aunt and Dennis, the Life Enrichment Manager here at Birmingham Green nursing home, are going to be talking and conversing next week about my self-publishing my poetry books and using Amazon KDP going forward. Is there anyone here who is willing and interested in connecting with me in regards to creating an author website where Incan connect with inspired readers via my poetry and poetry books? Please let me know! FYI, my Substack has my poetry on the following link: https://romanticsinger24.substack.com, my YouTube channel is @romanticsinger24, and my Instagram profile handle is also @romanticsinger24. Hope to hear back from you sometime soon everyone!

@Maria Kim Sure thing! I want visitors to be able to learn everything they can about me, connect, email, converse, and read my poetry through purchasing my poetry books. I want to fully connect with inspired readers readily, realize their dreams boldly, and act collectively towards a strong sense of belonging. FYI, I am not using Amazon KDP anymore, because a guy I know named Dennis, the Life Enrichment Manager here at Birmingham Green nursing home, and my aunt both have told me that it unfortunately costs money to pay to use Amazon KDP, so thatโ€™s why I am not using it at all anymore. I have previously connected with a small presser based in Colorado called Alternating Current Press, and I sent them my debut three poetry book collections already, so I learned hat their publication time frame is currently 2027/2028, and thus itโ€™s going to be a long while at this juncture. In the meantime, I contacted a number of Literary Agents and/or Senior Agents to query and/or send them a proposal of my debut poetry book collections already, and Infound out that it going to take 6-8 weeks until I hear back from them.
