Did I make a mistake?
My mentor recommeded I get PMP certified but I just saw the requirements to take the test. It says you need 3 years of experience (I have a Bachelors in Business Management) BUT it has to be within the last 8 years. I've been a stay at home parent for the last 11 years so my 9 years of military service and managing all the projects every class at University of Phoenix are all out of date...what do you all recommend? Thanks for the help.

The issue is PMP requires experience within the last 8 years and I've been a stay at home, unemployed parent for the last 11 years. I have nothing within the last 8 years. as for the projects at University of Phoenix, every class requires a project that is 30% of your grade. For those projects you have to work with 3 or 4 other students to complete a given presentation or submit a group paper. I'm not talking about studying or taking exams.
